A victorian era fruit plate from my victorian still life. It was done in Blender, Substance Designer, Substance Painter and 3D Coat. To create the engravings on the plate, I modeled and rendered the shapes in Blender as a height map and used them as a brush in sculpt mode with radial symmetry in Blender and as an alpha with radial symmetry in Substance Painter. So this project began being another hand paint piece, but then I started trying post processing effects here in Sketchfab and I realized it looked quite good as a grayscale. This is the first time I use the post-processing so much, up to the point it’s changing the whole final result. I’m still happy with this project. Another model that was made to go in the back of an ambulance made by Mikephoenix I simply went on google images to reference what large oxygen tanks look like and i am really happy with the result, I wanted to make a face mask on the end of the tubing but at the time it was too advanced for me to model. This was also made with 3ds max, headus UVlayout and Quixel and it helped me hone my skills in the programs. For the last model of the challenge, I have adapted and retouched one of the first scenes I did after studying and I have added an animation to include the topic as a lighting effect. Personally it has been a long and difficult year. Having joined the challenge has helped me handle it better. I hope next year will be better. The summer months were the most difficult to do but I am satisfied with the overall result. Next year I plan to spend the time learning Blender and Unreal 5 so I don’t think I’ll do the Weekly again. This little devil is another result of a notebook doodle. Its definitely a habit of mine to interrupt a profile with an architectural or angular structure, usually on the head. It always just seems nicely jarring. I’m surprised its taken me this long to model a devil, as it is pretty much all I used to draw as a teenager having come across the gothic oddites of Jacques Callot, Abrecht Dürer and Hieronymous Bosch. And Doré, of course. His devils aren’t as pleasantly animalistic as the other guys’, but there’s something about the way that he congregates and arranges them in his prints that I haven’t seen done anywhere else. There’s something in the way Doré renders his demon wings that’s completely beyond description. 3D scan of a primeval dwarf horse (Eurohippus messelensis) fossil from Messel, which is todays Darmstadt, Germany. Fossils from this area are extraordinarily good preserved. That is because 47 million years ago there was a tropical forest around Lake Messel, and on its floor the oxygen-deprived environment prevented decomposition of the corpses that sunk into the lake. This primeval dwarf horse of Messel is Number 28 of the NHM Top 100 and can be found in Hall 9 in Showcase 68 at the NHM Vienna. Made with a remote dataset with many blurry and not sharp photos. Creation process was focused on reducing the blur and sharpness using deep learning models to improve quality on the source images. The same process was applied to the final resulting texture of the model to increase even more the sharpness of it. A model of a head of (possibly) Rameses II.
