This is the first game asset I have developed and worked on through the whole process. In August, 2017 I have joined French Foreign legion modding discord as a 3d artist, to work on the development of mods for Squad (the game). The first assignment I took over was the mortar. The process took a bit longer ( month or so), since I have a full time job and limited time to work on my solo projects. The process started with research and gathering of all the references possible. Next step was to block out the major parts and start working on the high poly model. The biggest problem was to figure out how the mortar actually works, shoots, moves and folds. After completing the high poly I started modeling the low poly. Next step was to unwrap the whole thing and get it ready for painting. After initial painting was finished I imported everything to Unreal Engine to see how everything looks in the Squad itself. The project of the shipyard was an incredible task: to create an interactive project that displays the work of all the workshops and mechanisms of the factory and at the same time it had to be mobile. Our team has found a unique solution that has no analogues in the world: a scalable object with all of its processes was visualized by us and also animated and filled with necessary information by creating 3D-models and using the application of augmented reality. This project allows not only to explore the internal territory in daytime or night enviroment, but also to study in detail all of the processes from within, from cutting metal plates to the production of finished vessels and allows to study the detailed information about all of the processes as well. The project was created by us based on the project documentation for demonstration the model of the shipyard to customers in different countries. The Black Pearl ship from the movie Pirates of the Caribbean, although it’s not 100% acurrate. I made this model last summer as my first big project, but at that time I didn’t know about Sketchfab. So now, after some UV unwrapping and texturing rework, I uploaded it here. I love the way it looks inside this viewer! I used it for a render long ago (https://www.artstation.com/artwork/eZBgD), which ended with the boat inside a bottle due to my incapability to recreate a decent sea environment.
