It was one of the largest horned dinosaurs and could reach a weight up to 10 tons. Its skull alone could grow over 2 meters in length! The name Triceratops is derived from the Greek words trí- (τρί-) meaning ‘three’, kéras (κέρας) meaning ‘horn’, and ṓps (ὤψ) meaning ‘face’. This cast of the Triceratops horridus skull can be found in Hall 10 of the NHM Vienna next to the T. rex skull. Species: Triceratops horridus (Marsh, 1889) Inventory number: NHMW-Geo 2000z0185/0001 Collection: Natural History Museum Vienna, Geology & Paleontology Dept., Vertebrate Coll. 3D scan of a primeval dwarf horse (Eurohippus messelensis) fossil from Messel, which is todays Darmstadt, Germany. Fossils from this area are extraordinarily good preserved. That is because 47 million years ago there was a tropical forest around Lake Messel, and on its floor the oxygen-deprived environment prevented decomposition of the corpses that sunk into the lake. This primeval dwarf horse of Messel is Number 28 of the NHM Top 100 and can be found in Hall 9 in Showcase 68 at the NHM Vienna. Specimen: Eurohippus messelensis (Haupt, 1925) Inventory Number: NHMW-Geo 1993/0035/0001 Collection: Natural History Museum Vienna, Geology & Paleontology Dept., Vetrebrate Coll. 3D scan of a trumpeter swan (Cygnus buccinator), which is the largest native water bird in Northern America and has been widespread there. These birds are around 1.5 meters long, with a wingspan of more than 2 meters. Trumpeter swans got their vernacular name due to their trumpet-like calls. This also reflects the scientific species name derived from “buccinare” – to trumpet. The exhibited specimen originates from the Tiergarten Nürnberg and came to the NHM Vienna in 1978. This trumpeter swan can be found in Hall 30 of the Natural History Museum Vienna. Model's Description:
Jetski front cover scanned with Artec Leo 3D Model. Download Jetski front cover scanned with Artec Leo in various files formats such as Wavefront Object format, Autodesk FBX, DirectX 9.0, Stereo Lithography and HTML5 JSON format.
Cooperation with our friends at G-3D-PrintThe front cover of the jetski was scanned using Artec Leo in 15 minutes (including chalc sraying, markers, etc.) and the post-process workflow took about 60 minutes in Artec Studio. The jetski belongs to the world champion György Kasza and his team. The purpose of the scan is to make a perfect fit bespoke fabricated composite cover, therefore some reverse engineering was necessary to get a native CAD data (step) to be able to machine the mold for the composite. For this, weve sed Quicksurface’s Autosurface option to get the nurbs surface based on the HQ mesh.
