Buckie House, Anstruther, Fife, Scotland. Buckie House (also informally known as the Shell House) was built in the late 17th century. In the 1840s the then owner Alex Batchelor extensively decorated the house with seashells, both inside and out. Alex also went on the decorate his own coffin which was also adorned with sea shells which he charged people to see. Restoration work was carried out on the exterior in 1968 and 2010. The house is situated on the corner of Elizabeth Place and High Street West which form part of the main road through Anstruther, this leaves the building and its decoration vulnerable to damage from large vehicles negotiating the corner. Most of the photographs were taken from across the street with a few from the middle of the road when there was no traffic. This is a 3D model is from a laser scanning survey of the remains of a slave house chimney (Chimney 3) from the Stafford Plantation on Cumberland Island National Seashore. The Chimneys are a series of 26 hearth and brick remains in three parallel rows that are found nearby the main Stafford plantation house. The site is undergoing restoration treatments and our 3D survey was performed prior to that work, digitally documenting and preserving the site for archival purposes. Our 3D work is additionally assistive with preservation planning and supportive of management needs, and can be utilized for structural repair documentation, monitoring, and condition assessment. Using these models, 3D prints can also be made to examine construction techniques in tactile ways. Photogrammetry Scan of an original specimen from Fossilogic (casting rights holder), in Pleasant Grove Utah. Scanned using a Nikon D850 with a 35mm prime and an Xrite color chart. Images were processed using Adobe Lightroom and calibrated to the color chart in ADOBE RGB colorspace. Scan was completed in Epic Games Reality Capture. Scan geometry was processed in Autodesk 3ds Max using the retopology modifier to get to an accurate polycount to be subdivided to as close to 100millon polys as possible. Max was also used to unwrap into UVW layouts. The resulting retopoed and UVw’d geo was re-imported into reality capture and base color info was reprojected. The resulting geometry was imported into Maxon Zbrush for clean-up and minor restoration. Mesh Maps were baked in Marmoset Toolbag 4. The Potocki Palace in Lviv was built in the 1880s as an urban seat of Alfred Józef Potocki, former Minister-President of Austria. On 22 November 1919, American pilot Edward Graves dropped into the palace as part of an air show over the centre of Lviv on the 1st anniversary of the city’s liberation from the Ukrainians. The plane crash and the explosion of its fuel tanks caused a fire on the upper floors and the roof of the palace. The repair and restoration of the building lasted until 1931. From 1945 to 1972 the palace was used by the Institute of Geology and Geochemistry of Combustible Minerals of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR. On January 18th 1935, Clark Hopkins, the field director at Dura-Europos, found three painted shields stacked on top of each other during an excavation. The shields, which date back to shortly before AD 256 and which were abandoned when Dura-Europos was sacked by the Sassanians, were in good condition with much of the painting still visible. The ancient shield has been beautifully restored in digital 3D using available data from the Yale University Art Gallery and Herbert J. Gute’s watercolor painting, “Wooden Shield Painted with Scenes from the Trojan War”. 3D model of the fortified church of St. Wolfgang on a slope of the Lienberg in Kirchberg am Wechsel. The church was donated by Artolf von Ofenpeck after a dispute with the parish priest of Kirchberg. Construction of the choir began around 1390, the nave was built in the second quarter of the 15th century. Completion took place in 1451. The imposing west front of the Wolfgangskirche was a demonstration of power against the lower-lying and then smaller parish church. In 1782 the church was abandoned and in 1796 it was taken out of consecration. Demolition work with the blasting of the vaults was not profitable and left a ruin. From 1860 to 1862 a reconstruction was made. In 1862 the church was consecrated anew. A fire on 6 April 1918 again left the church in ruins. From 1919 to 1926, work was done to restore the church with plans by the architect Richard Jordan. The model has had several parts removed and paint stripped back during an historic attempt at restoration, which has frustrated specific identification. Some elements are suggestive of a Mediaeval cog, especially hull dimensions, keel design and clinker build. Another comparison would be a mid-to-late-18th-century or early 19th-century merchant, or naval, brig. Brigs were two-masted, square-rigged ships which normally had a spanker sail set on the lower mainmast. The foremast was the shorter of the two masts. They were used as both naval and merchant vessels. If this ship is based on a naval vessel it would be classed as a sixth-rate (having 20-28 guns on a single deck) as there are 22 gun-ports.
