The 3D model presents a digital look of a historical costume from a Russian lubok print “Farnos i Pigasia” dating to the 18th century. The costume was made for a theatrical performance «Indecent is decent» (Ivanovo State Museum of Local History named after D.G. Burylin, October 30, 2019 – March 1, 2020, http://xn–80ablhhepdp1a2ae9h.xn–p1ai/). The 3D reconstruction was made by using historical block patterns, 2D scans of textile materials and 3d scans of contemporary actors. Anthroscan, Clo3D, SubstancePainter and Unreal Engine 4 software programs were applied. An armillary sphere is an astronomical instrument, a model of the celestial sphere. It was used to demonstrate celestial phenomena and determine the time and equatorial and ecliptic coordinates. The armillary sphere enabled simulation of astronomical phenomena, including the movement of planets in relation to the Sun. It was made by Franciszek Słupski as part of his doctoral thesis defended at the Philosophy Department of the University of Kraków.

Rune stones
The rune stones of the Viking period were erected in memory of the dead – mostly powerful people – and their honourable deeds. They were intended to be visible and were painted in bright colours. The stones often stood near roads or bridges, where many people passed by. They were not necessarily placed at the burial of the person they commemorated.
The rune stones bring us very close to the Vikings. Their inscriptions feature the names of the people who lived and died at this time. They also provide information about the travels, great achievements and sad fates of these individuals.
Rune stones are by and large only found in Scandinavia. Around 250 rune stones are known from Viking Age Denmark. Most of the Scandinavian examples are from Sweden, where there are over 3000 inscriptions.

Digging Up ‘Little Hell’!
An excavation of one of Liverpool’s slum ‘Court Houses’ was undertaken in July at Oakes Street (between London Road and Pembroke Place). As part of the Galkoff’s and Secret Life of Pembroke Place project the Museum of Liverpool archaeology team worked with Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine to see what was hidden under their car park.
One of the objects found was a cermanic egg which was used in the keeping of chickens.
