Maple Samurai. Created for Feudal Japan challenge on ArtStation. 99895 triangles. Four 2k texture sets. The character is not based on any concept. The plan was to create the most realistic samurai armor I could in a given time. Hope I succeeded. Initially I’ve also wanted to include an environment which tells a small story abut his connection to a maple tree but had no time to create it during the contest. I’m planning on creating a scene with a young passionate boy training himself to achieve his dream to become an adventurer. Maybe he will someday become a main character in his game or something? xD He will probably be happy with being just a side character though. (Poorly Crafted) Adventurer’s Sword - 2 Description: Crafted by the aspiring adventurer with a little help of a local blacksmith. It was easily worn out after some use because of the lack of skill of the crafter. The sword clearly has decreased effectiveness due to the wear and tear it easily got after some repetitive usage. On January 18th 1935, Clark Hopkins, the field director at Dura-Europos, found three painted shields stacked on top of each other during an excavation. The shields, which date back to shortly before AD 256 and which were abandoned when Dura-Europos was sacked by the Sassanians, were in good condition with much of the painting still visible. The ancient shield has been beautifully restored in digital 3D using available data from the Yale University Art Gallery and Herbert J. Gute’s watercolor painting, “Wooden Shield Painted with Scenes from the Trojan War”.
