The 3D model presents a digital twin of a theatrical costume for a play by A.N. Ostrovsky. The garment was modelled by using historical block patterns, 2D scans of textile materials and 3d scans of contemporary actors. Anthroscan, Clo3D, 3dsMax, PixPaint and SubstancePainter software programs were applied. The authors of the 3D model are Aleksei Moskvin and Mariia Moskvina (Saint Petersburg State University of Industrial Technologies and Design). The authors thank prof. Victor Kuzmichev (Ivanovo State Polytechnic University), faculty members and students of Ivanovo State Polytechnic University and their colleagues from Ivanovo State Museum of Local History named after D.G. This is Tik-Tok, a Royal Guard of Oz. He helps protect Dorothy during her revisit to Oz. He is my favorite, since there is so much going on with his character and how he operates in the world. Unfortunately, there were some issues carrying him over into Sketfab for some reason. The UV’s for the normals and bumpmaps didnt carry over correctly either. And most of his buttons and in quite a few other places, the polygons forgot how to keep their shape, so he’s very broken right now. A lot of smooth edges became hard edges and his overall mesh quality suffered. Originally, i was going to model him because I could, but then thought I could bring him into VRChat, so its visible where I started to hold back on the polygon count. I’ll update him eventually. After a long time of sitting unfinished, here he is! This guy has been collecting dust in my computer files for a while. He started as a class project, but I never felt I did the original concept art justice after the one week I had to work on him, so I decided to resculpt and finally get around to texturing him. I had to fix a lot of stuff as well as optimize him for him to be game ready! I’m very happy with how this guy turned out, and it was a good piece to practice all aspects of the pipeline since I did a lot of back and forth changes. This is a completely new mesh based off the shape and proportions of Yowane Haku. I had this bright idea to see what an MMD character would look like with a proper human texture on it and sort of anatomical accurate eyes, nose and erm… bits. I downloaded the original MMD character and had to take some paracetamol when I looked at the topology of it and thought I’d make my own with more detailed hands and ears as well. It’s an experiment that a pervert like me has wasted many hours of fun with. Still not complete and a bit of a screw up on the iris textures and the bottoms of the feet. One day I’ll finish off my ultimate Waifu and 3D print her in Silicone :-) After all she’s not an alcoholic and won’t end up having me cucolded when I can’t afford a bottle of wine for her. She won’t moan about the washing machine not being fixed yet or the toilet seat being up. For the last model of the challenge, I have adapted and retouched one of the first scenes I did after studying and I have added an animation to include the topic as a lighting effect. Personally it has been a long and difficult year. Having joined the challenge has helped me handle it better. I hope next year will be better. The summer months were the most difficult to do but I am satisfied with the overall result. Next year I plan to spend the time learning Blender and Unreal 5 so I don’t think I’ll do the Weekly again. The AI is going to change everything, so things will have to be rethought. This is my first time making 3D character art, so it took long to make this model. I was never satisfied with the body and textures of the Elite, so I was constantly changing and adding things. After the Elite was finally finished, I decided out of the blue that the Elite needed a plasma rifle. Then I had to model that gun too, which also took a million years… However, it was the most fun personal project I’ve ever done, and I learned so much from it! I will definitely be making more character art in the future. The alien in question is a Covenant Elite Zealot or Sangheili Zealot. I’m a huge fan of Halo and I was shocked to realize I’ve never done 3D Halo stuff before. So I chose to make an HD remake of the classic Halo CE elite zealot, with some of my own changes here and there. This project started as a small desire to model something medeval. I started on the catapalt, and from there wanted to animate it. However i thought it would be fun to have a looping animation. This then spawned the idea to create a character who was determined to siege this tower after after he formed a sort of rivalry with the owner of the tower. I ended up adding a lot of addition props to the scene that i hadnt originally accounted for. I also removed a character from the tower, who i put a bit of time and work into, but he just didnt fit into the scene well enough (i may do a seperate/individual upload of that character). This was my first animation (in several years) of my own character, modeled and rigged from scratch. Im not really an animator, but i thought it would be a fun challenge to add in a character and fully animate them. Modeling and animation was completed in Maya and Zbrush.
