For the course Stylised Creation at Howest DAE I made this cute dog. This assignment was focussed on going through the whole pipeline (blockout - sculpting - retopology - UV Layout - texturing - presentation). This little guy was sculpted in ZBrush, retopo and UVs were done in Maya and I used Substance Painter for the final texturing touches. This character was made out of a concept by Lynn Chen. For my 3D1 Final, I decided to make a diorama based off my village back in India. Located atop mountains and surrounded by nature, a lush green environment, a lake, and, reimagined with semi-modern architecture, my diorama depicts what a forest loner might live like around that area. It’s messy, but for someone who’s only modeled for more or less 6 months, I’m very proud of it. This is my scene for the Howest DAE diorama assignment. Before starting my studies at DAE I went on a summer trip to Norway and found the nature there, and in particular the forests, to be very inspiring. I tried to capture some of that experience in the foliage and landscaping of the garden. My main goal for this scene was to make it feel like a believable whole while still keeping a strong overall composition. I really tried to push myself on this one so any feedback will always be appreciated. I did my best to convey the forest loner’s story of why he lives where he does. He may be an art thief but I didn’t want to commit any actual art theft myself, so the paintings are just some photographs, mostly from Norway. This is my diorama for the 3D1 final assignment in Howest Digital Arts & Entertainment. The goal was to create a low poly scene based on a selected storyline using Maya and Photoshop. At the end of an overgrown road in the English countryside lives grandma in her lovely stone cottage. She spends a lot of her time outside, tending to her flowers in the old greenhouse, doing daily chores and enjoying tea time while telling stories to her beloved animals.
