After Soviet Union collapse in 1991 this airfield has been closed, lots of aircraft stood there under open and guarded by few militaries. In 2013 all guards gone, and locals starts to disassemble aircraft. Now, there only fuselages left, a couple of helicopters remains one engine. Lots of L29 airplanes, An-2, Mi-2 helicopters. This place nowadays becomes some kind of museum. Hundreds of people visits it on holidays. I took around 2000 photos of helicopter, 1867 was good. Nikon d5300, 18-55mm@18mm kit, 1/160 s, f/8, ISO-125. It appears, that lots of photos are blurred, so I deleted them, but I still unsatisfied with remaining photos. To show you how much, I redid the C1, the atlas, the first vertebra of the spine. I annotated the current C1, because a vertebra is much more than just part of the spine, it has a lot of distinct features of its own. I want to redo the complete model and put it in a dedicated website so, that everybody can learn the gross anatomy of Rattus norvegicus in a way that doesn’t need actual specimens. The aim of this bag was to pad out the brightly coloured objects in the game with some duller colours, I think it did that well, however after working on a large number of objects to re-create the fortnite style, I didn’t use any techniques that I found (such as duplicating the AO layer to give a hash shadow on the base colour texture) as this was made earlier on in production when I was trying to find my feet with the style. The basic idea was to create non-speaking characters and to be able to characterize them with actions, lights and shots. The Unreal sequencer was the best tool to do this. Synth and Kiddo are awakeners and travel from world to awaken gods of musical genres in seemingly neutral worlds. In this case the awakened god is that of New Retro Wave music. All models were made through my classic workflow: 1. Zbrush for the highpoly 2. Maya Retopology + UV + Rigging 3. Substance Painter 4. Maya for animation 5. I used the Warhammer 40k models Witchfate Tor and Dreadstone Blight as my main references for the design of the tower. I started this model in Maya, blocking in all the shapes. Then I moved to ZBrush and sculpted in detail. In hindsight, I wish I had made this a more modular blockout because I ran out of time sculpting each individual piece. After I had sculpted enough to finish baking my Game Res mesh I moved to texturing in Substance Painter. It took a bit of time to get my UV’s laid out well enough to have the resolution I wanted, and I ended up going from 1 texture set to 2 in order to achieve the level of detail I wanted.
