A thick metal strap is put around this statue to protect it from additional damage and thieves. Statue located inside a temple called called Hiranya Varna Mahavihar. This temple is also commonly known as the “golden temple” due to its all inside statues, structures that are coated with golden color. This mahavihar is unique because unlike other mahavihar this is bigger and has a three-storey golden pagoda of “Shakyamuni Buddha” which was built in 12th century by King Bhaskar Varman.
