This beautiful water well is situated right next to the Cathedral of Our Lady in Antwerp, yet it is often overlooked by tourists. The Gothic iron work for the well dates to 1490 and was crafted by Quinten Matsijs, who is better known as a Master Painter and founder of the Antwerp School. The story goes that when the young Matsijs first came to Antwerp as a blacksmith, he fell in love with Catherina Heyns, the daughter of a fine arts painter. However, her father was of the opinion that a smith was beneath the standing of his daughter. Matsijs therefore retrained as a painter (eventually becoming one of the best known painters of his day) and thus won approval to marry Catherina. UV Mapping can be better, i expanded with free addons, and for simple assets it working fine. Shading with node-based workflow and eevee viewport in real-time is awesome, just… awesome! Rendering… EEVEE is a blazing-fast real-time engine! Like it! Compositing is a bit laggy atm, but it has potential. Overall experience with blender is positive in many ways at the end! Some people in Roman Staines did rather well out of selling provisions to passing travellers; their houses had tiled roofs, Opus Signinum (concrete) floors, hypocaust flue tiles (under floor heating), window glass and painted walls. This is one of many fragments of painted wall plaster found in Staines. If you look carefully you can see a groove on the back where the slaked lime/sand/aggregate plaster was attached to the wooden ‘wattle’ frame of the wall, and a thin fine smooth layer of crushed marble which is applied to the outer surface to provide a painting surface. FantasyIslandChallenge My entry for the ‘ Low Poly Fantasy Island - Sketchfab January 2021 Challenge ‘ Used Blender mostly. Zbrush for modelling some details into the models. And because it had to come under 50k, I used the details of the models as Normals with the help of Substance Painter. All the models were textured in Substance Painter. Clouds would have looked better if Sketchfab had Volume Shader; but this [Dithered Opacity] came out to be fine too, I would say 😅. Please feel free to comment. “For years this shield has seen combat. Held in the hands of many before it was lost in combat and forgotten as time went by. Rusting away as a former glory of what it once was.” This is a swat shield I made using Maya and Substance Painter. I believe this is one of my finest works and I might be planning on making this as a useable free item on the Steam workshop in some games! Hope you like what you see and I will be sure to update this description if the shield is available for use in a game as a mod weapon!
