This Neoclassical Lion guards the front of the Baltimore Museum of Art along with its identical companion. Baltimore artist Charles Klutch (1871-1951) carved the sculptures from limestone similar to that used on the facade of the Museum in 1929. They were based on smaller plaster casts executed by Adolph A. Weinmen (American, 1870-1937). Weinman used as his prototype an ancient Roman sculpture that originally stood outside the Villa Medici in Rome, but is now located at the famed Loggia dei Lanzi in Florence. A pair of lions adorn important civic and imperial sites throughout the world. He went up through the ranks to Captain. He was chauffeur for Jesse (Boots) Hutsell (Division Fire Chief) around 1970 and then spent his remaining years at Station 14, near the Children’s Museum. Each of the heads is a seperate carved piece and form “stoppers” for each of four internal, carved depressions. These depressions housed small inlaid gold coffinettes each of which contained a mummified packet each containing either the stomach, lungs, intenstines, or liver. The sledge is wood covered in gold leaf. Created from 169 images (Canon EOS Rebel T5i) using Metashape 1.6.1 and Blender 3D 2.8. The gold covered wooden sledge was fixed/recreated in Blender as was the cavetto molding and lower portion of the lid. Further, the 4 metal staples each on the lid, chest, and sledge were all recreated in Blender. The front left human headed stopper was created by duplicating the rear right one in Blender. The costume was made for a theatrical performance «Indecent is decent» (Ivanovo State Museum of Local History named after D.G. Burylin, October 30, 2019 – March 1, 2020). The 3D reconstruction was made by using historical block patterns, 2D scans of textile materials and 3d scans of contemporary actors. Fake exhibition of sythesized work mimicing the figurative painters: Neo Rauch, Julio Larraz, Luc Tuymans and Dana Shutz. All artworks of the 4 painters represented are fake — synthesized by the AI, Stable-Diffusion, on my laptop, as an experiment to explore the AI’s capabilities. The fake Stable-Diffusion work did have some affinities to the work of the 4 painters, and so I built a fake, rather large art gallery to show-off some of these AI-generated results. Of the 4 painters, Stable-Diffusion seemed to have tighter affinity to Rauch, Larraz and Tuymans, though results seemed to only harken the styles of the painters from around 2006. Training data is obviously bound to dated corpora, and so I was limited in my choice of painters for the show. The bathroom is at the back of the left-hand stairwell. Rauch occupies the top floor. Larraz is exhibited in the main section. Tuymans is at right of entrance and Schutz at left of entrance. This 3D data of Kokura Castle was made using photogrammetry. This is Avatta’s first attempt in using drones to make high quality 3D architectural scan. We have photographed over 1500 images from all directions and the data was processed using Agisoft Photoscan. Kokura Castle of Kitakyushu, Japan was built by Hosokawa Tadaoki in 1602. It was the property of the Ogasawara clan (from Harima) between 1632 and 1860. The castle was burnt down in 1866 in the war between the Kokura and Chōshū clans. Mori Ogai was based at the castle at the turn of the 19th-20th century when it was a military base. The keep was reconstructed in 1959, and the castle was fully restored in 1990. The Matsumoto Seicho museum and castle garden were opened in 1998. The Warszawa M-20 model 200 passenger car, manufactured between 1957-60, is a version of the Warszawa M20, which itself was manufactured from 1951 on a licence from the Soviet Union but modernised by Polish designers. It has a design typical of the 1940s, with a classical drivetrain arrangement. An inline, four-cylinder flathead petrol engine is placed at the front and is connected to a three-speed transmission that propels the rear axle via a propeller shaft. The front suspension is independent. It has a multilink design with a stabiliser bar. At the rear, a rigid axle was suspended on leaf springs. The front part of the monocoque body has a subframe at the front to which the suspension and driveline components are mounted.
