Sigaloceras (Catasigaloceras) enodatum is an Middle Jurassic macroconch ammonite with rare soft-tissue preservation. The model show an internal mold split from the shell from the Lower Callovian (Calloviense Biozone) Kellaways Sand Member of Claydon Pike pit, Fairford, Gloucestershire, UK. The specimen was investigated using a new integrative approach of combined neutron tomography and X-ray microtomograph. This is model represents the first extensive 3D-preservation of ammonite soft tissues in the body chamber documented through CT as reported in:

3D scan of a fossilized ammonite from the Lower Albian (Lower Cretaceous). The mother-of-pearl shell is still visible, which makes this piece special. This ammonite was found in Ambatolafia within the Mahajanga Basin in the northwest of Madagascar. Take a look at a 3D scan of a big block full of fossilized ammonites from the same location here.
This fossil cannot be found in the exhibition of the NHM Vienna. Some other beautiful specimens of this kind can be found in Hall 8 of the NHM Vienna.

Fossils are often a labour of love and this is a good example of that. Sometimes they tell a story too. This ammonite assemblage from the Jurassic green ammonite beds of Charmouth, Dorset seems to have been trapped inside a larger Liparoceras ammonite. However, only pieces of the larger ammonite remain, perhaps as a result of breaking apart from the pressure of the smaller ammonites trapped in the body chamber. There are several different species preserved including Tragyphyloceras, Aegoceras? shells and juvenile ammonite specimens. The largest ammonite measures 8.5 cm The matrix measures 24 cm x 23.5 cm - Multi Green Ammonite Fossil 3D Rendered Model - 3D model by Naturalselectionfossils 3D Model is ready to download for free, this model contains 315486 polygons.
