This Rad looking gas mask is one of my favourite pieces of survival equipment. There’s a good chance you recognize it as it’s especially iconic and appears in various media as a cool looking respirator, despite rarely being named. It’s been used by many different military and civilian organisations, not the least of which was British special forces, who used versions in both counter terrorist and “regular” operations overseas by both the SAS and SBS. This was modelled off of an Ex-police example that I own because I’m a massive nerd. As for the model itself, it uses mostly 2K maps, was Modelled in 3DSMax and baked in xnormal. I was pleasantly surprised at the effect a good cavity map had in PBR! Actually turned out fairly high poly, but a few LODS helped that in-engine. Bust mesh from Polycount wiki. (Thanks!) The RotJ version’s biggest difference is the different barrel grip design and no techy pieces attached to the left side. ANH also has a lot of variation, partly because those techy pieces fell off some of the props, partly because they just used mismatched parts in general. Aside from being slightly simplified (eg. I have a smooth wire instead of 2 curly wires to save on polycount, there is no trigger to avoid clipping—although many screen-used ones in ANH also have no trigger!), I also made a conscious change to add back in the one missing grip from the left side of the barrel in ANH where there was a bayonet attachment and a row of holes instead. This is the damaged version of a carousel that I made for a Unity WebGL game a while back. The game is a 3rd person perspective, educational game and all rides are meant to be ridable after ‘fixing’ them, hence why there’s a damaged, and a new version of the ride. This also meant that the rides needed to be fully animatable and look as good as possible from close up despite limitations. Three of the main limitations were: 1. Poly count was required to be below 10000 per ride 2. Only a diffuse map was allowed 3. The only way to convey difference between a damaged and repaired ride was by replacing the diffuse map (no model changes allowed) NOTE: - Carousel animals from the Unity asset store were used. However, I haven’t included these in order to better showcase my personal contribution to the project - The flag has a significantly higher poly density than the rest of the model, this is because cloth physics were used to animate it. - Textures from both textures.com and Poliigon were used - Carousel - Damaged - 3D model by Kkye 3D Model is ready to download for free, this model contains 5500 polygons.
