Hello! This Rad looking gas mask is one of my favourite pieces of survival equipment. There’s a good chance you recognize it as it’s especially iconic and appears in various media as a cool looking respirator, despite rarely being named. It’s been used by many different military and civilian organisations, not the least of which was British special forces, who used versions in both counter terrorist and “regular” operations overseas by both the SAS and SBS. This was modelled off of an Ex-police example that I own because I’m a massive nerd. As for the model itself, it uses mostly 2K maps, was Modelled in 3DSMax and baked in xnormal. I was pleasantly surprised at the effect a good cavity map had in PBR! Actually turned out fairly high poly, but a few LODS helped that in-engine. Bust mesh from Polycount wiki. (Thanks!) My entry for the #StorybookChallenge I wanted to work on a story from my childhood that hasn’t been turned into a dozen different movie-versions, and since I´m a huge fan of stars, glowing things and a little pinch of magic, the tale “The Star-Money” seemed perfect to me. It’s written by the Grimm brothers and tells the story of a homeless girl who is pure and kind by heart. As a reward for her kindness the stars fall from the sky and turn into gold. Modeling done in 3DSmax, textured in Substance Painter. Old wooden cart from Georgia. In the Caucasus, such carts are called arba (araba in turkish-speaking countries). We found this arba while walking in Mtatsminda park in Tbilisi with @sv.stats who had noticed it. It was in the evening, so it got dark quickly and the shooting conditions were not very good but I decided to scan it anyway cause it was our last weekend in Tbilisi and there would have been no other opportunity. This Bronze cast created in 1927 by François Rudier is part of the monumental stairs of Marseille Saint Charles, in France. The statue - called “La Chasse” (hunting) - is part of a group of six similar pieces representing the region’s products (other being fruits, flowers, fishing, cereal harvesting and grapevine harvesting). This is all that remains of SS Rifle, one of the earliest surviving examples of a small pre-fabricated screw steamer in the British Isles. Rifle was purchased by the Locheil Estate in the 1860s for use on Loch Arkaig, ferrying goods, passengers and mail between the isolated dwellings around the loch. As well as being a practical vessel, Rifle was also used for pleasure, often carrying shooting parties. The boat was laid-up in the 1930s, and whilst being scrapped, sank and lay buried until removed by the army after becoming a hazard to wartime vessels working from the pier. Rifle was blasted away from the pier, losing the bow in the process. Despite being submerged for over half a century, it was raised in 1990. Although in a very fragile condition, Rifle’s propeller is a well-preserved example of an early design. The model was created as a part of ‘Scanning The Horizon’ 3D digitisation project. This is a photogrammetry scan of a mid size photography studio in Los Angeles. Start by shooting a good 500 photos, very sharp, hi rez, RAW, with Sony A7, tripod, and remote control to avoid shake. Then color correct with Lightroom, save to 16bit TIFF, open in Agisoft Photoscan to create a rough 3D model, about 2 million polygons. Import this into Maya, rebuild in simple low polygons with clean UV layout. Next this low poly gets imported back into Photoscan where you can project the textures again, (only the best/sharpest 70% of the photo set) into the clean UV’s, and this will export out nice 8k textures. Then use in Maya as a lighting environment since you have the HDR 360 Pano (whole additional workflow there), and try out VRay with GPU for fun. Export out as fbx format for loading into Sketchfab or UE4, fly around with your VR headset. The 6-axis industrial robot is a KUKA KR210_R2700_prime. Some friends and I are making a game called ItadakiMaster. The player plays Yamada Sensei who has stolen the food of the gods and returned to mountain cottage to enjoy his divine meal. But little does he know, the gods have sent an army of tengu to interrupt his feast and spoil his plans for immortality. Will Yamada be able to fend off the Tegnu long enough to finish his lunch and ascend to the divine realm?? This is my design for the environment.
