Originally, this was a logo design that I made for #KPPLOGO contest (when Kyary achieved her 5 year as a musical artist). Didn’t win, but I like the concept enought to make a 3D version. The idea consist in a giant living cake/ice cream that eats everything that cross it mouth. There’s lots of sweet things around since Kyary stuff usually looks that way. The cake eating a cloud or the cream vortex swallowing a cherry might not be so sweet, but her art have those details quite often. Wanted to try something new and fun out, so after fiddling around in Blender for a solid while and trying just about everything I know how to do, this happened after I figured out how meatballs work. Mirrored UV layout for simplicity, and fully weightpainted on an armature so I can put dynamic bones on it to wiggle around a bit. Was a lot of fun learning how to make this. I’ve been trying to practice modeling different things lately, and then converting them into puppetable avatars for VRC. This is one of the several I have done recently. This one was far too much fun to do. I don’t know why the world needed a bar of soap with a bite taken out of it, or a carefully modeled butt, I just know that it had to be done. Mr Soap here has seen some things, and I don’t know that he appreciates it. I put this scene together as a mobile-game MOD for an app called TRUE SKATE (you can click here to check out some gameplay: https://youtu.be/FgObnbupvQE ) The Staples Center (stairs in front of the Convention Center) is a very famous skate spot. I spent a good amount of time in Google Earth, and used screenshots from there to make a texture-atlas for the buidings, to make sure things looked right. Project was modelled and textured in Blender. A couple of the street-costruction props(.fbx) were imprted and placed around, other than that everything was modelled and textured myself.
