This project feels like the reimaging of two separate projects I’ve done in the past. Mountain top castle, and lighthouse island. Both projects that at the time I was pleased with, but looking back on I felt weren’t my best. I liked their premises a lot so I went ahead and merged the two together. Thus Castle Island was born! Now for this scene, I did something I don’t often do when It comes to modelling scenes. I purchased pre-existing work. I know! Crazy, but I was having a strange amount of trouble modelling grass, I couldn’t get anything that looked “grass” you know? I found an awesome little collection pack of low poly natural and organic models. Something I do tend to struggle with making so I was in awe that I found something that fit my style and could be a great leg up in terms of things I struggle with. Definitely going to see if I can leverage these assets in the future. Concept from Cowboy Bebop, Refreshing the Swordfish’s design Every universe has a different Spike Speigel. The one that lives in the Neon Slums was the recipent of the Swordfish Mk III instead of the Mk. II. This alternate version of the classic mono-racer features an experimental engine capable of pushing the zip-craft to speeds previously thought impossible. Shortly after being given the MK III by Doohan, Spike wrecked the Swordfish costing him his entire left arm in the process, but Doohan came through and built Spike a new arm.
