So, I decided to use this diorama school project as a way to explore what 3d can offer and how it looks it other completely different styles. I went on a completely different direction from my first project (treasure chest) going from a some what realistic hand painted to the most stylized texture I could do. I decided to do cell shading for this one, although cell shading material doesn’t export to sketchfab I decided to duplicate every object and flip it’s polygons to give a similar ilusion, ence the diorama having the double of the budget tri on sketchfab. This project was inspired by animal crossing and Drawn to Life , hopefully it gives some sense of story within and atmosphere. 3D Model is ready to download for free, this model contains 30510 polygons.

This was a very fun piece to make for Revival, I enjoyed designing and thinking about all the details and symbolism in it while also balancing having a sense of the sterotypical reaper imagery while also being distinctly unique from it. This was made for use in UE4 and as such the textures I have here are not the complete version since I planned to do some things in engine. I created this model based on references from the actual movie props and some amazingly faithful replicas. The geometry is relatively light weight for use in game engines. The counter animation is geometry based, so it can be used dynamically and adressed by code. Complete with 4K PBR textures. My motivation for this piece came from rewatching the Aliens movies. I took this as an opportunity to learn Substance Painter and figure out how to bake maps for a more complex model like this. It’s also always interesting to learn a few things about design in general and about the object you’re researching in specific. As with all things art, there are elements of this guy I wish I could change, but ultimately I love this dude and I’m proud of him.
