Once I had a good blocked out concept, I refined the detail sculpt, retopologized the mesh Uv’d and textured it. The surfacing for this guy was originally done with Vray in mind, but with a little clean up, it was pretty easy to transfer over to Sketchfab’s PBR material. I had to down res the maps significantly to get them to load however, and the Emission of the material seems to blur out the surface quite a bit. It was found at Cape Otway, Victoria in 2014 by John Wilkins during fieldwork by a Museum Victoria-led team of researchers and volunteers. This claw is very similar to the claw of Australovenator wintonensis, a theropod dinosaur found in Queensland and described in 2009. We think that this claw specimen is from a dinosaur closely related to Australovenator, if not from the same species. Sometimes a block of sandstone will break off and roll down the soft slopes and end up out in the flats. Over a thousand years these huge blocks will weather and decompose into amazing shapes.
