My submission for the first Low Poly challenge of 2021! The combined lighthouse and windmill provides the Lighthouse Keeper with an excellent view of the surrounding reef, unfortunately it lighthouse no longer works as intended, meaning there have been a few… mishaps over the years. Though we are assured that it certainly wasn’t the Keeper’s intention! The crows nest provides a convenient way to cut across to get those fresh seagull eggs in the morning, and the diving platform provides a nice way to keep entertained through those hot summer days. There’s plenty to do and see - a fishing platform, covered to keep you protected from the midday sun, the odd wreck and legend has it there’s a treasure chest that’s been pulled on shore! Interesting Facts: The Sea-Doo name came from snowmobiles. The manufacturer, Bombardier Recreational Products, originally made Ski-Doos which are snowmobiles. And the Ski-Doo name was originally suppose to be Ski-Dog which references sled dogs. But one of the first brochures of the product misspelled the name, Ski-Doo and the name stuck. So they are called Sea-Doos because they are a water version of a snowmobile that got is name by accident. First made in 1968, there were complaints of overheating so they changed the engine from air cooling to water cooling. There was also complaints of the seat and handle bars. Hair cards were created using Maya Xgen. This is a model I made for my post-apocalyptic weapon project in my first year at Staffordshire University. The idea is that a pair of bricks have been taped to a broomstick with a rusted metal handle covered in tape.
