Super telephoto photogrammetry of a wreck abandoned boat derelict. Pealing chipping off layers of paint. Lots of seaweed and seashells from the lagoon of Venice. Unfortunately I could’t get full coverage because I coun’t get very close to the subject, maybe 20m the closest, I could’t get all the photos I wanted especially from the top. This was one of times I wish I had a drone (not sure if it’s even allowed to fly in that area anyway), so I tried my best with a 400mm lens handheld from any place I could walk around it. I managed anyway to get comfortably 3x8K textures and normals in a relatively low poly model. Maybe if I find the right conditions again (low tide and good light) I could try to reshoot this one, maybe from a boat… stay tuned for a possible reupload. 3D Model is ready to download for free, this model contains 99988 polygons.

This model of an African Bush Elephant is more than 4 years old. You can see the first version of it here: https://sketchfab.com/models/nbHrGAzBh1SktiN4DnpXFDykZcv At the time I was pleased with it, but I had trouble with the posture and I wasn’t that skilled yet to get the polygons to an acceptable level. The last week I have been working on it again, one of the advantages of working in digital 3d. I changed a lot of things in posture, sizes and shape, most of them subtle but more in line with what an African Elephant looks like. This version of the model is an intermediate sized model. I could go down to the lowest polygon version, but I think this is a good compromize between ease of use and actual details displayed. And as you can see I used the posibilities of the viewer to give it a look and feel that matches the grandeur of a great African elephant bul. P.S. The model has Dept of Field (DoF). This is a basic male skeleton. I modelled it in order to use it for anatomy stydies. Mi intencion is to rig is later on and be able to pose it. The mesh comes in a single object but its all separated pieces. If you want to rig it and pose it you’ll have to separate de pieces and organice them. It has no UVs or textures. Over several assessments I have made and worked on some assets and wanted to display them, but felt that they were lacking just being on their own. Many of these assets were toy like, and I brainstormed different scenes I could fit them into. I decided on a child’s room, and built some supporting assets to build the corner of a room. I challenged myself to complete it within a day, though I ended up using most of a second day as well. Overall it was a simple, fun scene, and a nice break from character work.
