This is my personal studying project called “Martian Colony”. Textured in 3D-Coat, most of the props have 1k textures. My colony has some living blocks, the laboratory, gates to the mine with some crystals, and the mining vehicle full of them. And in the center of the scene, I placed the obelisk, which initially attracted the attention of researchers. Sometimes I want to make some extra-polishing, but it’s time to finish and move ahead. You can see the first version of it here: https://sketchfab.com/models/nbHrGAzBh1SktiN4DnpXFDykZcv At the time I was pleased with it, but I had trouble with the posture and I wasn’t that skilled yet to get the polygons to an acceptable level. The last week I have been working on it again, one of the advantages of working in digital 3d. I changed a lot of things in posture, sizes and shape, most of them subtle but more in line with what an African Elephant looks like. This version of the model is an intermediate sized model. I could go down to the lowest polygon version, but I think this is a good compromize between ease of use and actual details displayed. And as you can see I used the posibilities of the viewer to give it a look and feel that matches the grandeur of a great African elephant bul. P.S. The model has Dept of Field (DoF). If you click on a part of the elephant it will go into focus and the rest blurs. Gaara’s gourd from naruto, used to carry weaponized sand. This is my interpretation of what Gaara’s gourd could look like in the real world if it were made from realistic materials. The gourd is made of clay, with the cloth band in the middle consisting of a silk-like fabric. I assumed the symbols around the gourd to be talismans, and gave them the appearance of being “stuck on” to the gourd. This one was a lot of fun, and really triggered my nostalgia! UPDATE: I added some new texture details to the gourd, changing the glossiness to give it more of a sandy appearance. All the smaller sets were building up to this. The bandit camp was originally conceptualize for the mediterranean, pirate / magic themed level I was building in Unreal for whta I called the Amalgam game. I made the concept of a single level I wanted to make, similarly to the one I did 3 years ago, but fully with my own assets. The bandit camp is using sets of items. each set consist of 5-10 items and they share the UV map per set. I tried to logically put together items that are relatively close, so when the engine needs to load them, it will be easy, but I’m not really sure I achieved the desired effect, since now for a very small item, the engine also needs to load a larger picture. Without comaring the results in unreal with this approach and to have every item use their own UV, would take me to re-UV all items, but that’s too much work.. A vintage 1964 blonde Fender Bassman piggyback amp. This is one of the rare transitional models, which features largely brownface circuitry and cosmetics with a black faceplate. This amp also features the desirable 6G6-B circuit, popularized by Brian Setzer. There are a couple of changes, namely the output transformer and speaker. Fortunately the ouput was replaced with an original Schumacher 125A13A, manufactured in late 1962. This transformer would have been pulled from a 1962 or 1963 Blonde Bassman, so it is identical to the original output transformer. Very happy with this one- a low poly pbr model of an A-wing, somewhere in between the Star Wars: Rebels and Return of the Jedi versions, complete with a low detail cockpit interior and pilot, and some of my best textures yet. The overall proportions and colorscheme are inspired by Rebels, but the engine tips, split nose and laser cannons are more like RotJ– really this design could go anywhere in the post-Clone Wars timeline. The glass material uses the same textures as the hull, so if you had a huge fleet and wanted to improve performance, you can apply the hull material to the whole thing to have opaque black shiny glass, and then you could delete the pilot too to save on his material. On the other hand, if you want to get fancier and add some refraction to the glass, the glass pieces are their own separate elements, so it is easy to select them and add a little bit of thickness with a shell/solidify modifier in your 3D software of choice. Some lights in the engines will also make it look fancier. Gliding animation for a nice lightweight rhamphorhyncus model, a Jurassic pterosaur that ate fish, squid, etc. Gave it a gannet-inspired colorscheme in Substance Painter. The gliding animation is the only one that comes with this model. The skeleton is very basic, and may require new skinning or rigging to try to do any more ambitious movements- I modeled it in flight, I don’t know if the geometry will support it landing and walking without some bad clipping. I took major inspiration from Kiriko(Overwatch) for this mask. A lot of parts on this mask are emissive, tried to make it look as cyberpunk as I could. the pink areas all have a carbon fibre texture because why not. The Japanese characters on the mask is actually from Kirikos ultimate voice line “Unleash the kitsune’s claws”. The ones on the kunai, I had no idea what to write but I found something that said “The weak are meat;The strong eat” it was kinda funny in a cool way so I used it. Before hearding this challange I always wanted to learn hand painted or atleast wanted to make a handpainted 3d model but I could find any avaliable moment until this challange. I decided to join it. It was a really though challange at the begining you know in books everything is 2d and it was really hard to convert that things to 3d. In the end I am really happy about conclusion I learned lots of new things about animation and hand painting in this challange I am planning to make much more model like this in future =). Jen is an amazing person. She’s a nurse at the Children’s Hospital, a boxer, and owns the cutest little dog named Ozzy. She came in to the studio today to help me do some tests of her in her boxing outfits and I couldn’t resist doing a silly capture. The scan needed some clean up and the shoes and gloves needed moving for this model but all were scanned in a single capture (except for the top of Jen’s face cause who really has multiple cameras at the top of their 3D capture booth?) 3D Model is ready to download for free, this model contains 299992 polygons.
