The theme I chose was “Forest Loner”, and I thought it would be interesting to create a house that looked like it was made by hand from local materials. I’ve always been curious about tileable textures, and decided to try my hand at creating a few to be used in the scene. I created a wood and metal trim texture which was used in the texturing of the shed, the house, the water tower and the electrical poles. I also made a texture sheet for the metal roofing and used it to also texture the small electrical conductors on the electrical poles. Not too sure about the colouring, was intending to have far more pinks and turquoises to aid a magical feel but ended up rather brown. I wanted to try and capture a sense of gentleness, of a single moment of growth that is simultaneously ground-breaking but also fragile and vulnerable - the eggshell softly cracking.
