She lost everything but the lights were always on, hoping that someone would spot them on the distance.” Hand painted scene I did for my Game Graphics final exam in Digital Arts and Entertainment. For the concept I based myself on the abandon military and scientific bases of Deception Island (Antartica), including the old whale oil refinery factories. While searching for some reference, I fell in love with the colors and mood that some of the pictures depicted from these places . They are completly abandoned and destroyed, but their surroundings seemed so quiet, pure and constant in time that made these houses feel like the only reserves of life in the place, even though they were forgotten long time ago. History The Mekarski system was a compressed-air propulsion system for trams invented by Louis Mékarski or Louis Mékarsky in the 1870s.The system was promoted as being suitable for use in congested streets and in tunnels, as compressed air produced no smoke or flames, and thus would not disturb horses or fill the carriage with soot and sparks like a steam engine. The system was tested in Paris in 1876 and introduced to the tramways of Nantes in 1879. It seems to have been a success at Nantes with a fleet of 94 trams in 1900. The Mekarski tramcars continued in use there until 1917, when they were replaced by electric trams. Model details Asset was developed while using somewhat limited resources. A high-poly Zbrush model ready for 3d printing - I know it doesn’t look as if it will print, but it will - see pictures below. I have based the model on pictures of the Tour de France showing one of the sprinters going over the cobblestones. When you download this model you will get an STL file sized to fit the Anycubic Photon or similar spec resin printer. The trickiest part of the process is removing the supports without cutting through part of the bicycle! I have also provided a link below to my Chitubox file for this model with all of the supports I put in place - download main model first please. This is a 3d printable model of Gary the snail from Spongebob Squarepants. I made it using Fusion 360, and it’s printable either as a single body in one colour, a single body in multiple colours (using an MMU) or in multiple parts to be assembled afterwards, allowing it to be printed in full colour using any 3d printer. The purchase includes a single body STL, 3MF, a multi part STL, and the Fusion 360 file. The multi part model has been created with clearances of 0.2mm to allow for easier part assembly. Tested using a Prusa MK2. If your printer needs a larger clearance value, you can load up the Fusion file, and change the value of the parameter, which will adjust all the clearances at once. Below are some pictures of the printed assembled model c/o my friend Mia (@dasmia3 on twitter.) Bronze statue located next to the City Park (Stadspark) of Antwerp (Belgium). The statue was cast in Paris by F. Barbedienne, from an original stone sculpture by Marcel Bourbier. The piece was part of the French pavillion during the World Fair of 1930 in Antwerp, and was later gifted to the city of Antwerp by the city of Paris. The original stone sculpture has since disappeared (a smaller bronze cast is on display in the Musée des Beaux-Arts in Nîmes / EDIT: apparently the original is now at Hearst Castle in California!). This beautiful, innocent scene foreshadows a tragic ending; the girl depicted in the sculpture, Marcelle Battu, was later accused of collabortion with the German occupiers and sentenced to death by the Military Court of Nîmes.
