My contribution to the #AngelsAndDemonsChallenge with this Hellboy version of mine. It’s been a long time since I wanted to work on this character from Mignola being a huge fan of his work.
At the exact same time i started working on this model, the challenge went live, so it was the occasion to participate. I don’t know if it’s okay since i didn’t create the original character to begin with, but the overall redesign, posing and sculpting is mine, so i’m trying anyway !
I used Zbrush and maya for the sculpt/modeling part and substance painter for the baking. I also wanted too stay light on the details to keep the stylized design intact and not fall into hyperrealism.
I’m working on a full textured version wich should be live in a couple of days.

Playing Alien Isolation recently inspired me to start working on my own Nostromo interior in Unity 5, great practise for super detailed hard surface environments and poly-count budgets. These are the walls of the Hypersleep stasis chamber, the first model I’ve made for the interior so far. I think it’s turning out okay so far.

I’ve been studying ancient egyptian culture for a story I’m writing and when I hit a wall I decided to create a staff to see if I could get inspired again. I based myself on Tutankhamun’s crook and flail and combined some iconic symbols from ancient egypt, like the djed, the ankh and the scarab . I also added Cleopatra’s name in egyptian hieroglyphs. Okay. So here is final version of clip-in cyberpunk glasses. Technically it should work same as glasses that Morpheus used to wear in Matrix (there is hidden spring in the nose mechanism so glasses would not fall). I added some padding that should be made from silicone similar to silicone used in earbuds.

This is the 3rd version of the Saitama 3D character models that I have been working on over the past few weeks. I have learned a lot from creating this character, and am quite OK with the result. More 3D character designs will follow. :)
The initial high-resolution mesh was first sculpted using ZBrush, then ZRemeshed to create the 1st pass of retopology, which was then simplified and adjusted in Maya to make it cleaner and more game-ready. After the model was constructed in the “A-pose”, I used Maya’s built-in Human IK feature to set up the joints, skin the model, apply the rig, and pose the character.
