The Aberfan class of cruisers were designed for Searadias coastal defence squadrons,and for their scouting squadrons. In total 10 were built alongside the Cait class cruisers in 1896, thus in doing so hogged nearly all of the larger state run shipyards for 5 years, leaving only a few commercial based yards available.At full load the Aberfans could weigh up to 3300 tonnes with enough coal to serve them for 4000 km,however the standard load was often around 3120 tonnes.They came fitted with 8- 450mm torpedo launchers and 4-120mm main guns,though also came equiped with 8-76mm open barbette guns and some 20mm machine guns spread around the ship.The open barbettes being an experiment to see how turreted secondaries worked out,without the added weight of a full on turret.The engines delivered 5180 horsepower,giving a top speed of 17.5 knots.Armour wise they came with a 50mm boxed citadel with 20mm protecting the rest 3D Model is ready to download for free
