This is an asset I made for a VR fan game thing. I say ‘made’ loosely as I did what a 2d artist would do when they trace a picture. I don’t know if the bridge will ever see use in my game as its kinda janky to be honest, but its the way the dev team at compile heart made it, so, I made this bridge as close to theirs as possible. So, what I did, was, ‘traced’ the model, and then added details akin to how it was textured. Description Devil’s Slide was the location of a military triangulation station and observation site used during World War II as part of the harbor defense of San Francisco. Prior to the advent of radar, military personnel used binoculars and compasses to search for ships at sea and relay their coordinates to a central post. By combining information from multiple observation posts, a ship’s precise location could be determined by triangulation. There were six military structures at the Devil’s Slide: three concrete and steel observation pill-boxes, two concrete and earth bunkers, and a reinforced steel observation tower. Then, importing assets to Unity while making sure they work inside the engine. Credits to DELL for logos/original product designs and NEC plus other branding included. Some textures were custom made/tweaked in Photoshop, but most assets I did use official/external logos. Assets not for sale, made for educational purposes. Special thanks to family and friends, class peers and prof. Chris Khuong for everything. Learned a lot while doing these assets. Software used, blender and substance painter. Assets will be used inside Unity. Workflow includes baking with high to low poly models. Maya was used for re-topo revisions for some instances. Trying out handpainted textures for the #travelchallenge! A regular broomstick just won’t do for a warlock on the go! This deluxe broom is complete with handlebars, a seat, and a friendly familiar. I was going to add cupholders but not sure if that fits with the fantasy theme. Feel free to use this model for anything, it was mostly for practice. All done in Blender. Also, despite what the bottom says, this model is probably not compatible with Unity/Unreal. The broom is all individual objects with their own textures, as that was the fastest and easiest workflow to follow. The file is an absolute mess. During my work, I drew attention to the materials from which the elements of the knee pad are made. The 3D model presents a digital look of a historical costume from a Russian lubok print “A dwarf and a dwarfess” dating to the 18th century. The costume was made for a theatrical performance «Indecent is decent» (Ivanovo State Museum of Local History named after D.G. Burylin, October 30, 2019 – March 1, 2020). The 3D reconstruction was made by using historical block patterns, 2D scans of textile materials and 3d scans of contemporary actors. Anthroscan, Clo3D, SubstancePainter and Unreal Engine 4 software programs were used. I originally created this modular building pack for use in Second Life using a single 1024 trim sheet. I wanted to see how far I could take the trim sheet with regards to adding more assets then originally planned and continued to build it out into this diorama. All of the assets in the scene, with the exception of the rain effects, use a single 1024 UV space, including the holograms, which have their scanline effect by making use of uv stretching and the opacity of the trim sheet map.
