This is a 3D model of a cast of the Terme Ruler, an ancient bronze statue in the Museo Nazionale Palazzo Massimo in Rome. The cast is made of plaster and is in Statens Musueum for Kunst in Copenhagen, Denmark. The Terme Ruler depicts a man with a disproportionately muscular body, especially when compared to its more modestly shaped head. This area, the Sassi di Matera, is a complex of cave dwellings carved into the ancient river canyon. Over the course of its history, Matera has been occupied by Greeks, Romans, Longobards, Byzantines, Saracens, Swabians, Angevins, Aragonese, and Bourbons. Neptūnus. Antiq god of freshwater and sea in the roman mythology. From the time of the Punic Wars (264-146 BC), when the Romans demonstrate their naval superiority, Neptūnus has been equated with the Greek god Poseidon. Neptūnus became not only a freshwater deity but a god of the seas. Most iconic artwork of the french sculptor Vital-Dubray, ” Neptune ” was made in 1856. Edited by the foundry Ducel from Pocé-sur-Cisse (1823-1878), they made many models that can be found in France and around the world. Aragonese Castle (Italian: Castello Aragonese) is a medieval castle next to Ischia (one of the Phlegraean Islands), at the northern end of the Gulf of Naples, Italy.[1] The castle stands on a volcanic rocky islet that connects to the larger island of Ischia by a causeway (Ponte Aragonese). The castle was built by Hiero I of Syracuse in 474 BC. At the same time, two towers were built to control enemy fleets’ movements. The rock was then occupied by Parthenopeans (the ancient inhabitants of Naples). In 326 BC the fortress was captured by Romans, and then again by the Parthenopeans. The lucerne or ancient Roman oil-lamps were small utensils, made of bronze or terracotta, used since prehistoric times, although it was the ancient Romans who exploited their mass production and their widespread use to have artificial light. They were fueled with olive oil and had from one to a dozen wicks. Some had handles, so they could be carried from room to room, and could also be carried by actors in plays or by participants in ritual activities. Those made of bronze had greater durability. For lighting large rooms, several oil lamps were used hanging from each arm of a standing bronze chandelier. Battering Ram 3D Model. RIGGED. ANIMATION is realistic swinging of the the center pole to make impact with a door or wall. A Battering Ram is a siege engine that originated in ancient times and designed to break open the masonry walls of fortifications or splinter their wooden gates. The Battering Ram is among the oldest used siege weapons and its history can be traced back to the ancient Assyrians whose images have been found using battering rams from about 9th century BC. Subsequently, it was used by Greeks and Romans as well as other people throughout the world. The design of Medieval Battering Ram could also serve as a bridge across a defensive moat or ditch! When a wall had been breached the ram could be used as an access route to the castle. No two rams were the same. They were designed to gain the maximum effect when attacking the defences of the castle. Model uses three materials. Game ready props Clay Pots. 5.6k triabgles. Cooking in unglazed clay pots which are first immersed in water dates at least to the Etruscans in first century BC but likely dates to several centuries earlier. The Romans adapted the technique and the cooking vessel, which became known as the Roman pot, a cooking vessel similar to those made since April 1967 by the German company Römertopf. According to Paula Wolfert, “all Mediterranean food used to be cooked in clay. In the Han Dynasty, pots unglazed on the exterior known as fus (now called sandy pots) were used for wet clay cooking. In Japan clay pots are mentioned from the 8th century and originally referred to as nabe. As pots made from other materials entered use, the Japanese clay pots were distinguished by calling them donabe; “do” means clay or earth 3D Model is ready to download for free, this model contains 5642 polygons.

Herm of Dionysus Luna Marble. Found in 1933 on the Via dei Fori Imperiali in Rome, Italy. Now in the Museo Montemartini, Rome. Herms are squared stone pillars with a sculpted head at the top and, typically, genitalia on the lower section. The Herm form originated in Ancient Greece and was adopted by the Romans. In Ancient Greece, Herms were placed at crossings, boundaries, and borders. Sometimes they functioned as signposts, when near a road, with distances inscribed upon them. This use may derive from the Greek God Hermes, the messenger god who was also the patron of travelers and wayfarers. The Herm of Dionysus shown here is missing its marble shaft. Dionysus was the Greco-Roman god of the grape harvest, winemaking and wine, and fertility. He is typically shown, as here, with grapes and grape leaves in his hair, and, in early representations, a long, curly beard 3D Model is ready to download for free, this model contains 10482 polygons.

I wanted to make a new hellenic thing, but then realised that this may be original Roman design - at least I found no evidence of greek origins of the design. It’s still doric though! This model is based on the sarcophagus of Lucius Cornelius Scipio Barbatus (clearly a roman guy), and here is the fun fact - the inscription on the tablet was once redone, most likely by one of the relatives of Scipio. So I changed the text a bit with some lines from the movie “Blood & Concrete: A Love Story” - since Romans really loved concrete, which they called opus caementicium 3D Model is ready to download for free, this model contains 34609 polygons.

Gilt bronze sculptures are rare finds from Roman Britain as only two other fragments are known. The head is probably from the cult statue of the deity which would have stood within the Temple beside the Sacred Spring, and may well date from the first century AD. A building built by the Romans during their occupation of Britain (43 - 410 CE) - typical of a town house in Londinium (Roman London) - established in 47 - 50 CE. The house would have been abandoned when the Romans left Britain and would have started to fall into disrepair but may have become occupied by early Anglo Saxons in the 5th or 6th Century. Following frequent attacks the Vikings occupied the city in 871 CE until it was re-taken by the Saxons in 886 under the leadership of Kind Alfred of Wes (Alfred the Great). The model shows the house in a state of disrepair but perhaps with some renovations - by Vikings or Saxons - and some Viking chairs up on the balcony! I have kept the poly count as low as possible and it should work well as a game asset - download the gltf file and load the scene file into Unreal - tick ‘Combine mesh’ box for a single static mesh or untick if you want to use the individual modules of the house in your scene. The Capitoline Wolf (Lupa Capitolina in Italian) is a bronze sculpture depicting a scene from the legendary founding of the city of Rome. The sculpture shows a she-wolf suckling the mythical twin founders of Rome, Romulus and Remus. According to the legend, when King Numitor, grandfather of the twins, was overthrown by his brother Amulius, the usurper ordered them to be cast into the Tiber River. They were rescued by a she-wolf that cared for them until a herdsman, Faustulus, found and raised them. The sculpture was long thought to be an Etruscan work (the Italic peoples who were defeated and finally absorbed by the Romans in the 1st century BCE). However, radiocarbon dating suggests it was possible that the bronze was cast sometime 1000-1200 CE. The twins were added in the 1400s, likely by the artist Antonio del Pollaiuolo 3D Model is ready to download for free, this model contains 249964 polygons.
