After Soviet Union collapse in 1991 this airfield has been closed, lots of aircraft stood there under open and guarded by few militaries. In 2013 all guards gone, and locals starts to disassemble aircraft. Now, there only fuselages left, a couple of helicopters remains one engine. Lots of L29 airplanes, An-2, Mi-2 helicopters. This place nowadays becomes some kind of museum. Hundreds of people visits it on holidays. I took around 2000 photos of helicopter, 1867 was good. Nikon d5300, 18-55mm@18mm kit, 1/160 s, f/8, ISO-125. It appears, that lots of photos are blurred, so I deleted them, but I still unsatisfied with remaining photos. In order for me to understand the way the spine works I studied some wonderful models on this site as well as using my own art books to help me figure out what the characteristics are for each region. The Cervical region being far more delicate and intricate for hosing nerves and allowing movement of the head. The Thoracic featuring slightly larger and more simplistic vertebra that create overlaping links at the back to prevent our backs from bending too far the wrong way. They also have longer spinous processes that fold over oneanother. Then the Lumbar region has these really heavy duty vertebra that again interlock to maximise on supporting the weight of the torso. So cool! Lastly the Sacral region which pairs with the hips to form the pelvis! The idea came after having explained to Linda Flowers the workflow for creating a complete character. Kiddo (the little girl) is her first model. In a month I taught her the basics of modeling, retopology and texturing. Synth (the elderly character) instead was born in parallel while explaining everything to her. The basic idea was to create non-speaking characters and to be able to characterize them with actions, lights and shots. The Unreal sequencer was the best tool to do this. Synth and Kiddo are awakeners and travel from world to awaken gods of musical genres in seemingly neutral worlds. In this case the awakened god is that of New Retro Wave music. All models were made through my classic workflow: 1. Zbrush for the highpoly 2. Maya Retopology + UV + Rigging 3. Substance Painter 4. Maya for animation 5. I have only seen this car once in the flesh, and hope to again some day, it’s so beautiful to me. I have debated rebuilding this model as a high poly asset many times so I dug it out to see how it holds up in Sketchfab all these years later. See what you think and maybe download it for fun.
