  Schlossbruecke 3D Model 2023-11-05
One of eight marble statues adorning the sides of the Schlossbruecke (palace-bridge) in the center of Berlin. Designed and constructed on commission of King Friedrich I. by Karl Friedrich Schinkel in 1921 replacing a wooden bridge used mainly for the transport of material for the construction of the Berlin Palace. The eight statues depict a hero's life from early childhood to death and weren't completed until after the death of Schinkel in 1841. During the Second World War, they were taken down and stored at a safe location. After the war, the bridge, left mostly undamaged, was part of the east zone, whilst the statues were stored in the west and not returned until the mid-1980s. the city palace was torn down and the bridge redubbed Marx-Engels-Bruecke. this was reverted in 1991 on the first anniversary of the German reunification. The Hallisches-Tor-Bruecke (fka. Belle-Alliance-Bruecke), a massive stone bridge after the design of Johann Heinrich Strack and Erich Dietrich, spans the Landwehrkanal since 1876. 1877, four sculptors were tasked with one allegorical marble sculpture (relating to the meaning of the Landwehrkanal) each. Bildhauer Eduard Lürssen (1840-1891) - Gewerbefleiss - fragmented in WWII Friedrich Reusch (1843-1906) - Fruchthandel - disappeared in WWII Julius Moser - Fischfang - restored to the original site Otto Geyer (1843-1914) - Flussschifffahrt - restored to the original site The latter two were removed 1902 for aesthetic reasons after the nearby railway station was expandedin 1902 and placed in front of the Kreuzberger Melanchtonkirche am Planufer where they escaped destruction during WWII. The Melanchtonkirche (church) was heavily damaged and explosively demolished in 1957. This one was captured at abandoned airfield (aviation school) in Volchansk - 75km from my city. After Soviet Union collapse in 1991 this airfield has been closed, lots of aircraft stood there under open and guarded by few militaries. In 2013 all guards gone, and locals starts to disassemble aircraft. Now, there only fuselages left, a couple of helicopters remains one engine. Lots of L29 airplanes, An-2, Mi-2 helicopters. This place nowadays becomes some kind of museum. Hundreds of people visits it on holidays. I took around 2000 photos of helicopter, 1867 was good. Nikon d5300, 18-55mm@18mm kit, 1/160 s, f/8, ISO-125. It appears, that lots of photos are blurred, so I deleted them, but I still unsatisfied with remaining photos. I had no time to visit this place again to make good photos, so I left it as is 3D Model is ready to download for free, this model contains 1501216 polygons.
