Upper portion of a limestone statue of Thutmose III from Deir el-Bahri displayed in the Cairo Museum. The torso of the statue without the face was found in the early 20th century and now is in the collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. The face was found during excavations at Deir el-Bahri by the Polish Expedition in the 1960s and is in the Cairo Museum collections. Casts were made of each poriton of the statue and exchanged between the institutions. Today the original face and cast of the torso can be seen in Cairo and the original torso and cast of the face can be seen in New York. Created from 113 images (Canon EOS Rebel T7i) using Metashape 1.7.5. Access to the back of the statue was difficult and repairs to the reconstructed mesh were made in Blender 2.92. My entry for Sketchfab Weekly #3: Heart ! When I saw that Sketchfab is hosting weekly challenges, I immediately knew I had to participate since I’m struggling getting projects done and instead work on them for what feels like centuries. For the topic “Heart” I was thinking about some sort of “modern” Cupid and decided to create a new tool instead of the classic bow and arrow. For guns I find the design of revolvers very interesting, so I went with that. My version of Cupid is a highschool girl who works as Cupid as a part-time job and uses this (obviously non-lethal) gun to make people fall in love. Because she is quite young, I chose bright blue and pink colors, decorated the grips with doodles and added hearts in various ways. Another model that was made to go in the back of an ambulance made by Mikephoenix I simply went on google images to reference what large oxygen tanks look like and i am really happy with the result, I wanted to make a face mask on the end of the tubing but at the time it was too advanced for me to model. This was also made with 3ds max, headus UVlayout and Quixel and it helped me hone my skills in the programs. This is my first time making 3D character art, so it took long to make this model. I was never satisfied with the body and textures of the Elite, so I was constantly changing and adding things. After the Elite was finally finished, I decided out of the blue that the Elite needed a plasma rifle. Then I had to model that gun too, which also took a million years… However, it was the most fun personal project I’ve ever done, and I learned so much from it! I will definitely be making more character art in the future. The alien in question is a Covenant Elite Zealot or Sangheili Zealot. I’m a huge fan of Halo and I was shocked to realize I’ve never done 3D Halo stuff before. So I chose to make an HD remake of the classic Halo CE elite zealot, with some of my own changes here and there. This little devil is another result of a notebook doodle. Its definitely a habit of mine to interrupt a profile with an architectural or angular structure, usually on the head. It always just seems nicely jarring. I’m surprised its taken me this long to model a devil, as it is pretty much all I used to draw as a teenager having come across the gothic oddites of Jacques Callot, Abrecht Dürer and Hieronymous Bosch. And Doré, of course. His devils aren’t as pleasantly animalistic as the other guys’, but there’s something about the way that he congregates and arranges them in his prints that I haven’t seen done anywhere else. There’s something in the way Doré renders his demon wings that’s completely beyond description.
