This landscape was made entirely in VR with Gravity Sketch for a tutorial on my channel. It utilizes an original workflow of mine where I use Gravity Sketches volume brush to create convex shapes that can easily be converted into clean geometry with booleans. Each material can inherently share the same gradient texture as well, but to make it presentable in Sketchfab I have baked a unique color into each material’s gradient. This model also works extremely well with decimation, and can still retain it’s form when decimated by 99%. This project started as a small desire to model something medeval. I started on the catapalt, and from there wanted to animate it. However i thought it would be fun to have a looping animation. This then spawned the idea to create a character who was determined to siege this tower after after he formed a sort of rivalry with the owner of the tower. I ended up adding a lot of addition props to the scene that i hadnt originally accounted for. I also removed a character from the tower, who i put a bit of time and work into, but he just didnt fit into the scene well enough (i may do a seperate/individual upload of that character). This was my first animation (in several years) of my own character, modeled and rigged from scratch. Im not really an animator, but i thought it would be a fun challenge to add in a character and fully animate them. Modeling and animation was completed in Maya and Zbrush. “Take a right on the beaten path, and you will find a cabin belonging to The Crow.” Small diorama scene made for a school assignment. The theme I chose was “Forest Loner”, and I thought it would be interesting to create a house that looked like it was made by hand from local materials. I’ve always been curious about tileable textures, and decided to try my hand at creating a few to be used in the scene. I created a wood and metal trim texture which was used in the texturing of the shed, the house, the water tower and the electrical poles. I also made a texture sheet for the metal roofing and used it to also texture the small electrical conductors on the electrical poles. For my submission, I present MAT COP 21. COP 21 is inspired by the fictional character Eva from the pixar movie Wall-E. My artistic take on the challenge was to present a visual representation of the effects of climate change. Similar to the message conveyed in Wall-E my model expresses the juxtaposition of despair and hope for a ecologically sound future. The damage on the model symbolizes the negative impact on Earth but still holds hope in the form of the pod accepting the plant. I focused in on subtle details that are symbolic for these current issues such as: dented & bent metal, the burning lines ( Earth’s rising core temperatures), the cracked glass (depletion of the Ozone Layer) and, the black malice at the figure’s base (oil spills in our bodies of water). Second university project, to create a floating island diorama Went for all assets having relatively low pollys to have a fuller, busy impression. My aim is to create a story by portraying a witch’s island of books, with her oragami birds and fish, aswell as her dragon Familiar. I tried to make most of the pages unique and included references to the dragon on a few of the books. Not too sure about the colouring, was intending to have far more pinks and turquoises to aid a magical feel but ended up rather brown. Willow trees are my favourite so went for a magical pink fantasy one. Struggled a lot with the composition of the island and in hind sight would like to move everything around, but overall semi-happy.
