Just another weird model, this time mix between ent and imp, that for some time I had in my folder under codename Verto and just waited to get rigged. Idea was to make tad smaller ent that would act like imp in forest but would not be so weak as most of folklore show them, something similar to some of Japanse Oni demons.
Model is rigged, it contain two PBR materials.

This model was used in a rendered photo that I submitted to the 2018 (Edit: 2019) APS Metro show in Abuquerque as part of the “Digital Photography/Special Techniques” category. Unlike my CS:GO skins, this model was actually made by me. Made in Maya, and textured in substance painter, this NEC APC computer looks very nice in my opinion due to it’s 4K screen and emissive map. Weirdly enough I don’t remember this project taking very long. The model and texturing probably only took 3 hours and was made during school. But I am typing this at 1:16AM so I dunno. Enjoy my model.
P.S. I included 2 STOS basic references for lolz as well as a motherlover one that didn’t survive the resolution of one of the materials. Sad.
Edit: I don’t know why, but this didn’t make it in to the show. I honestly don’t know why. Even if the picture sucked (it didn’t) it should’ve made it in because of how few entries in the Computer Generated Art categories there were. Oh well. VHS-2 is really weird Bullpup Assault Rifle from Croatia. It have really iconic look similar to FAMAS but its not super popular/used.
As for model it self, its actually model that I made about 2 years ago, but I had to modify it a bit and create new textures due to previous project that it was part of. Its not super accurate but good enough, also I included two uppers for it… so its plus.
Model is rigged, but there is also version with separated parts.

So this was a cool project to work on, I like sculpting weird artsy stuff and I’ve been trying to learn Speedtree and trees are pretty boring to look at for hours at a time while you’re trying to figure out what all the buttons and sliders do. I also had to learn a whole new workflow for this but it is what it is.
The concept was heavily inspired by ‘The Last Of Us’ in the beginning, I also wanted the body to be similar to my ‘Corpse Flower’ model since theyre both in a larger project together.
Initially while I was figuring out Speedtree this model had blue leaves so I was going for that Willow tree vibe but it wasnt looking right. Then I got inspired by the art in ‘Diablo 4’ and scrapped the leaves and added more tiny branches and that kinda brought the whole Blood Tree thing together. 3D Model is ready to download for free, this model contains 197388 polygons.
