Thisss is a Jaguar XJ12 LWB, my favourite car. It’s the 6.0L V12 model also called X305 produced from 1995-1997. Only 591 XJ12 LWB models were made. Not including the Daimler Double Six/Century which I will make in the future. There is no interior, I’ll attempt one soon. I plan to make other versions as well, like an X308 version along with a low poly version. (no promises) I’ve spent several years on this making it completely manually. Using photogrammetry, 100+ reference photos and lots of adjustment. It’s not 100% accurate but I’ve tried my best. A high-detail model of the famous sword of Altair. It features the classic eagle head as a pommel, and the whole guard area is very reminiscent of the original sword. I took some liberties when it came to the rune-like details on the pommel itself, but tried to remain as close the the original(s) as possible. The sword was done via classic hard surface modelling, only said details on the pommels were sculpted and then baked onto the normal map. I gave the blade textures a good amount of wear, and went overall for a less clean “game-y” look. The entire project was done in Blender and Substance Painter. I challenged myself to design and model a robot, this dude took me almost a full year to come up with. I’m so bad when it comes to imagining robots and I’m even worse at hard surface modeling. Another challenge I put on myself was to try and not use ball joints, It felt like I was cheating if I used them in my design. One of the biggest lessons I learned from doing this project is that not everything is just not going to be perfect. I spent hours fixing miniscule things, trying to get the perfect alignment when in reality it literally didn’t matter as long it was good enough. The design itself was mainly inspired by Futurama Robots and Team Fortress 2 MVM robots. Anyways I’m happy with what I’ve created. The Potocki Palace in Lviv was built in the 1880s as an urban seat of Alfred Józef Potocki, former Minister-President of Austria. Quirigua Stela K - 3D model shown in relation to c. 1909 image showing west (right) and east (left) sides. This photo was taken during fieldwork at the site by Edgar Hewett, Director of the School of American Archaeology in Santa Fe, New Mexico. This carved stone monument is from the Maya site of Quirigua, Department of Izabal, Guatemala (UNESCO World Heritage site). Working in collaboration with Guatemalan archaeologists and site management, our team of heritage and 3D specialists are recording thestela and carvings as well as terrain and site landscape details. This ornately carved sandstone monument, said to weigh 20 tons and standing 2 meters high, is at the Archaeological Park and Ruins of Quiriguá, an inscribed UNESCO World Heritage Site in the Department of Izabal, Guatemala. The piece was 3D laser scanned in 2019 during our extensive documentation survey at the site by our USF Libraries DHHC team. We utilized structured light scanners at various sub-millimetric resolutions on this monument. Besides the rich iconography carved on this ceremonial throne, the text in the cartouches describe the founding of the Quiriguá dynasty (see also Matthew Looper’s Quirigua: A Guide to an Ancient Maya City, 2007 for discussion and additional references). Petra is an Arabian city in the country of Jordan carved out of the sand-stone mountains in Wadi Araba. It was established over 2000 years ago and was the capital of the Nabataeans. The tombs and structures are now in danger of erosion due to earthquakes, floods and natural weathering and are thus in need of monitoring and documentation. 184 laser scans were captured for this site in 2013. The laser scanning survey of Petra, completed by the Zamani Project, is part of the Siq Stability project, which is a “Funds In Trust” project of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs for UNESCO. It is managed by the UNESCO Amman Office and has as main partners Italian geological experts from ISPRA (Italian Institute for Environmental Protection and Research - Geological Survey of Italy), as well as geologists and a surveyor from the Petra National Trust.
