It’s not great, it’s not that bad either… This jacket is a replica of the black paneled uniform worn by military members of the Atlantis expedition in the Sci-Fi show Stargate Atlantis, and this specific version, made of ripstop fabric, is worn by John Sheppard during seasons 2 and 3 of the show. The photogrammetry C1 I made by mirroring the half that was completely scanned, and I still miss a lot of details, but the reason for wanting to be able to also make photogrammetry models is that I want to be sure about the overall shape of my models. As you can see, even though most of it is the same, especially the transverse processes (the “wings”) have a slightly different orientation. I need to redo the scan to be sure if I need to remodel the modeled C1. I added another scan made with agisoft with the same set of photos. The scan is totally different somehow, not only in the details but also in the larger features. (and yes, I’m a perfectionist..) Edit: added yet another version with agisoft. Used 514 photos and mirrored one half. It’s getting better, even without image stacking. The last week I have been working on it again, one of the advantages of working in digital 3d. I changed a lot of things in posture, sizes and shape, most of them subtle but more in line with what an African Elephant looks like. This version of the model is an intermediate sized model. I could go down to the lowest polygon version, but I think this is a good compromize between ease of use and actual details displayed. And as you can see I used the posibilities of the viewer to give it a look and feel that matches the grandeur of a great African elephant bul. P.S. The model has Dept of Field (DoF). If you click on a part of the elephant it will go into focus and the rest blurs. As such, the horse, symbolizing the nomad, is placed on the East in contrast to the dragon that represents the Han, or non-bow wielding peoples. This motorcycle was scanned with both Eva and Space Spider. Eva allowed for fast and easy acquisition of the overall shape, while Space Spider was used to scan the intricate geometry of the wheels and the sides. We first sprayed the bike with anti-gloss spray. The seat and gas tank had no features, but we stuck a couple of pieces of masking tape to them and that was enough to ensure stable. We didn’t have to add an extra features to the parts we scanned with Space Spider since all of these mechanical parts had rich geometry. There were a lot of these parts though and the shapes were quite complex, consequently it took quite a long time to scan them all. One of the highlights of the scanning was the bike chain: due to its thin and repetitive shape, we expected it to be a challenging object, but Spider’s scanning depth was deep enough to capture the background behind it. Scanning time: Eva - 15 min.
