The Weapon/Anti-Vehicle Model 6 Grindell/Galilean Nonlinear Rifle, also known as the Spartan Laser, is the UNSC’s ground-based, man-portable, anti-vehicle, directed energy weapon. It is the most powerful infantry weapon fielded by UNSC forces, even more than the Rocket Launcher. It is capable of penetrating multiple targets, including tanks, unlike the Sniper Rifle, which can only penetrate infantry. The name originates from the fact that it was designed in parallel with the Mjolnir Powered Assault Armor. When the trigger is pulled, a red targeting laser is painted on-target, accompanied by an audible whine as the weapon cycles up. The Spartan Laser will then charge for approximately two to three seconds before discharging the main laser. As the Spartan Laser charges, the charging tone gets noticeably louder and increases in pitch until the laser is fired. This is the 3rd version of the Saitama 3D character models that I have been working on over the past few weeks. I have learned a lot from creating this character, and am quite OK with the result. More 3D character designs will follow. :) The initial high-resolution mesh was first sculpted using ZBrush, then ZRemeshed to create the 1st pass of retopology, which was then simplified and adjusted in Maya to make it cleaner and more game-ready. After the model was constructed in the “A-pose”, I used Maya’s built-in Human IK feature to set up the joints, skin the model, apply the rig, and pose the character. My submission for the Search for a Star 2018 competition! The character took 4-5 weeks to create. Whilst I’d like to improve aspects of this character, I’m happy with how it turned out overall. A regal knight who belongs to the Band of the Peacock. They are proud, and like to stand out on the battlefield and whilst sparring. All in the band are left handed, adding exclusivity to their band, and all fight with two-handed weapons. The Band are often paid to fight for others, and due to their popularity, they are wealthy men. The idea behind the knight is to create a design that is visually striking but also believable as something that could have existed in real life. Below is my original concept. Cairn Liath is an Iron Age broch that sits proudly on a rocky knoll and commands views over a long stretch of coastline. Broch’s are substantial stone towers or roundhouses only found in the far north of Scotland. They were constructed and used between 600 BC and 100 AD. This broch has a circular interior 10.2m in diameter and substantial walls over 5m thick; there was one entrance passage to the building. The walls survive to 3.66m high, but originally the building would have stood to a considerably height and had higher floors. A staircase to higher levels was built into the wall. The third Duke of Sutherland ‘cleared’ this broch in 1868 and some of his finds from his antiquarian excavations are preserved in the National Museum of Scotland. In this test I wanted to test how much there is difference when baking normals and AO from much higher polycount mesh. 28 million mesh (A7R IV) vs. 16 million mesh (D5300). Both models have been decimated to 800k meshes. It was a part cloudy day so i used AWB with both cameras. Personally i’m surprised that almost double the polycount shows on minimal difference when baking 3D Model is ready to download for free, this model contains 1617841 polygons.
