By day, it roosts silently amongst dense conifers, until it is discovered by other birds at which point a cacophony of mobbing calls may ensue to try to dislodge the predator. One can sometimes entice a pair of saw-whets to stay in the neighbourhood with a nest box. Small mammals, especially deer mice, beware, as you are the owl’s main prey. The first statue was created in 1713 and destroyed during the French Revolution, in 1793, to make cannon. I used a lot of custom photo equipment (macro lens, polarization filters, extension tubes and a 3D printed cockroach holder from shapeways).
