The gourd is made of clay, with the cloth band in the middle consisting of a silk-like fabric. I assumed the symbols around the gourd to be talismans, and gave them the appearance of being “stuck on” to the gourd. This one was a lot of fun, and really triggered my nostalgia! UPDATE: I added some new texture details to the gourd, changing the glossiness to give it more of a sandy appearance.
