There are 4 regimental buttons going down the front of the jacket, however there is evidence that it is well worn due to general wear and tear of the garment and a button missing. There are 5 pockets lining the jacket, 2 on the breast and 2 on the hips, all secured with the same regimental buttons that are the same as the ones down the front. There is then one concealed welt pocket on the right-hand side along the belt line. There are 2 Cornwall badges on either side of the collar, decorated with a crown and bugle badge, along with either regimental button fastenings on either shoulder. 3D scan of a fossilized ammonite from the Lower Albian (Lower Cretaceous). The mother-of-pearl shell is still visible, which makes this piece special. This ammonite was found in Ambatolafia within the Mahajanga Basin in the northwest of Madagascar. Take a look at a 3D scan of a big block full of fossilized ammonites from the same location here.
This fossil cannot be found in the exhibition of the NHM Vienna. Some other beautiful specimens of this kind can be found in Hall 8 of the NHM Vienna.
