Designed by Holabrid & Roche and completed in 1917, 1 North Dearborn is a large 17 storey building that runs the length of the block between State and Dearborn streets in Chicago. It once housed the Boston Store, one of numerous vertical department stores which once existed along the street. The facade is composed almost entirely of Chicago windows set into a well-defined grid of vertical piers and horizontal spandrels. The facade has larger windows on the first two floors and smaller sash windows set into a colonnade of classical detailing. One of three (and the hardest) commission pieces done for Second Life. Always open for quotes First time properly using Substance Painter - Croix De Guerre 1939, given to brave souls who fought along side the allies during WW2. Some areas aren’t as accurate as I’d like them to be due to having to work around an issue in photoshop (had to mess about with the UV a little, so there’s a tiny bit of weirdness). That said, this has been an important breakthrough in my workflow and I’ve finally entered the realm of PBR. Whilst I do own (and quite like) Quixel, its shortcomings are mostly performance based, whereas Substance does very well in this case. The thing with Substance is pinpoint accuracy is at a loss along with important things like proper brush scaling on both U and V. I’ve yet to check out the latest version of Substance though. Fake exhibition of sythesized work mimicing the figurative painters: Neo Rauch, Julio Larraz, Luc Tuymans and Dana Shutz. All artworks of the 4 painters represented are fake — synthesized by the AI, Stable-Diffusion, on my laptop, as an experiment to explore the AI’s capabilities. The fake Stable-Diffusion work did have some affinities to the work of the 4 painters, and so I built a fake, rather large art gallery to show-off some of these AI-generated results. Of the 4 painters, Stable-Diffusion seemed to have tighter affinity to Rauch, Larraz and Tuymans, though results seemed to only harken the styles of the painters from around 2006. Training data is obviously bound to dated corpora, and so I was limited in my choice of painters for the show. The bathroom is at the back of the left-hand stairwell. Rauch occupies the top floor. Larraz is exhibited in the main section. Tuymans is at right of entrance and Schutz at left of entrance. After playing some Alien: Isolation I just had to make this model. After a day and a half of work, fueled mainly by hip hop, it is complete. The face detail is actually all texture work and the face geometry itself is completely flat. I could have used a high-low poly bake but I decided instead to use an alpha and the height map stamping effect in Substance Painter as I was going to be spending a lot of time authoring the texture for the face text anyway I might as well just make an alpha for the imprint (also my laptop would probably just melt if I tried to work with a high poly with enough polygons). This is my first model using opacity maps. This was a fun project to make, not only because of the classic gaming console but also the early 80’s TV. Admittedly, I never actually owned an Atari 2600, but my dear grandma had a TV like this for many years when I was a kid, so it’s sentimental to me. There are many textures included, but don’t let it scare you too much; they’re all appropriately labelled and easy to apply. A lot of them are 128x128 uniform color textures, which shouldn’t add much of an extra workload to your scene, and some materials share the larger textures as well. There are several cartridge materials included, and you can easily change the TV screen texture, so you could get really creative with what game is playing in your scene! Or you could have it not playing a game and just put your own video on there or something, anything you’d like! Our sincere tribute to the illustrious nineteenth-century engineer from Tenerife, Agustín de Betancourt y Molina, who developed the industrial revolution in Europe by inventing the European steam engine, among other engines, founder of high-level engineering schools, as well as the builder of the new capital of the Tsars of Russia, St. Petersburg. This unique and first Sketchfab-engine creation is adapted from the “silk thread braiding machine” of Agustín de Betancourt, showing its gear wheel set and how it works.
