This is a 3D model of a cast of the Terme Ruler, an ancient bronze statue in the Museo Nazionale Palazzo Massimo in Rome. The cast is made of plaster and is in Statens Musueum for Kunst in Copenhagen, Denmark. The Terme Ruler depicts a man with a disproportionately muscular body, especially when compared to its more modestly shaped head. Estimations date this statue to near the 2nd century BCE, comparing it to the Terme Boxer, particularly in hair style. Realized using Blender, GIMP and Photoshop. The model is rigged but not very well… I currently find rigging very tedious; that is why the pose is minimal. I am an amateur trying to improve my skillset (painted textures in particular). The fur texture was a challenge. In Blender I was using Freestyle lines to achieve a cartoony, hand-drawn style in the renders. For this reason I could not use any transparency in the textures to achieve a more realistic fur. Unfortunately there is no equivalent to Freestyle in Sketchfab (yet!) but I think the model still looks alright with PBR materials. Any constructive criticism is appreciated; I already have a list of things to improve for my next project. This character is my own original creation. His outfit is much fancier now, suitable for godly attire. Technical details: -Face repainted and resculpted to look like MKX. Skin tone adjusted, stubble removed. I was really curious on the particular art style the Valheim’s devs went for, so i tried to replicate it and make a scene for it! Had a real fun time on this one. Most of the texture here are made by downscaling to something between 50x50 and 100x100, depending on the size of the object, and then upscaling to a normal txt size (512 or 1024), keeping the hard edges of the pixels. This method specifically on the normal map is what gives really strange results that match the art style. A new kobold sculpt based on a redesign of kobolds I did a while back. Trying to steer away from the raptor-like look of my last model and go for a more dog-like face. I feel the torso still looks too human, but he’ll have a more animalistic stance if I ever get this model rigged. This particular kobold is named Bo, hopefully we’ll be seeing more of him in the future. I plan to retopologize him in Maya, then do a detail pass in ZBrush to add in scales and wrinkles and such. This cast iron waffle maker was made from a pattern used by multiple foundries in the 1800s and has no maker’s marks on it, making it impossible to know exactly who made it. It is believed, however, given where the artifact is from, that this particular waffle iron was manufactured by the Terstegge, Gohman & Co. foundry in New Albany, Indiana. From the 18th Dynasty onwards, mudbrick pyramids were used to mark the tombs of private individuals. These small structures were topped by a stone pyramidion. Many such pyramidia have survived, and most of them were found in Thebes (at Deir el-Medina) and Saqqara (the burial ground of the city of Memphis). They are typically decorated with solar motifs. On the front of this particular example, the deceased Ptahemwia is depicted standing in adoration. The hieroglyphic text is dedicated to Re-Horakhty and Osiris. Above the deceased, we see the jackal god Anubis. The wife of the deceased and their three children are shown standing in adoration on the right side, with two other women in the back. The left side depicts the gods Re-Horakhty and Osiris.
