Prompted by the lovely staff here at Sketchfab, I have decided to research a bit more about the pistol this model is based on, and boy was it a fun read!

The design dates from the 1860s, and is attributed to Louis Dolne. The gun was manufactured until the end of the 1800s.
One of the rarest gambler/hide away/ personal defense deringers around. Incorporates a 6mm (22) rimfire revolver, “knuckles” that unfold to provide a grip for the revolver and a 2 1/2” folding dagger. Weapon is 4” long when folded. Expands to 8” when at full length. Marked “Dolne - 6mm” (L. Dolne - Imuur) on frame, folding trigger and exposed springs. Brushed finish, overall excellent. Known as the Apache Knuckle-duster (Up-Pash) for the Parisian fighters, called Apaches, that colonized the French capital starting in 1875.

Modeled and textured for my MFA thesis, I researched artifacts at the American Civil War Museum in Richmond Virginia, and digitally restored these artifacts to what they might have looked like when they were first created. This pipe was heavily damaged and missing large chunks in the bowl. Restoring these missing pieces, and reducing the amount of wear on the pipe brought back more color and smoother features. Smoking was much more taboo back in the mid 1800s, even among soldiers. This cast iron waffle maker was made from a pattern used by multiple foundries in the 1800s and has no maker’s marks on it, making it impossible to know exactly who made it. It is believed, however, given where the artifact is from, that this particular waffle iron was manufactured by the Terstegge, Gohman & Co. foundry in New Albany, Indiana. This foundry also produced Anchor Stoves & Ranges. Again, there is absolutely no way to know for sure who made it — it’s only an educated guess. This waffle iron produces waffles with a playing cards pattern — hearts, diamonds, etc. This was an extremely popular waffle iron pattern at the time.
