I was told a really interesting fact about antique medical supplies from a teacher who taught me 3D art in the past. The reasons for a lot of medical supplies/furniture during this time being green is so that when blood sprays on this colour, it appears as black and is less confronting to patients. This is because mixing red and green together, the result achieved is a dark brownish-black colour. The drawers and cupboards have functioning hinges and can be opened and closed to store all of your important medicines and supplies! This asset was created for EDEN, the indie surreal horror game by Missing Mountain Dev. The game takes place in an Australian Manor post WWII and the Gold Rush. Part of a 3D modelling and mild animation project. These weapons feature in the Kingdom Hearts game series. I’ve had go at constructing them myself, and given them a new coat of paint to give their visual appeal a greater effect, since the in-game models aren’t especially ‘shiny’, like the models you see nowadays. These iconic keyblades are the Oathkeeper and the Oblivion, each representing the bonds Sora has with Kairi and Riku respectively, but are better known for being used by Roxas, Sora’s nobody, in his fights against Sora, Riku and Axel. Their combined power can enhance and prolong the user’s combat drive, and can banish dark foes with the power of light This is a piece of fan art for the Kingdom Hearts Series. Over several assessments I have made and worked on some assets and wanted to display them, but felt that they were lacking just being on their own. Many of these assets were toy like, and I brainstormed different scenes I could fit them into. I decided on a child’s room, and built some supporting assets to build the corner of a room. I challenged myself to complete it within a day, though I ended up using most of a second day as well. Overall it was a simple, fun scene, and a nice break from character work. Archived work from September 2021. I saw a post where a bolt 3d model was made for a Stalker gamemode, so I wanted to do one myself and hopefully better. Made with Bolt Factory Addon (heavily modified model) in Blender + Substance Painter Adopted a workflow for this model of baking down normals of a high-poly mesh to low-poly first. I missed the Meet Mat 1 contest and I’m very happy to join this Meet Mat 2 Contest. The new Substance Painter is awesome with the tessellation feature, so I can play with the heigh channel very flexible. I also give myself an additional small challenge: I won’t use anything outside the Substance standard shelf but 1 custom color profile (for rendering later). My idea is that MAT is an Space traveler who will “jump” through Space to explore the universe. Unfortunately, some planets are very dangerous so he lost 1 arm and leg. But now his new arm is strong enough to help him go further and safer. The device on his right arm is used for selecting the destination to travel, and of course MAT can check the time with it :). I’m not really happy with the displacement quality. This house was once belonged to a timber baron in a small Northern California city. But after the logging industry went bust, it’s owner abandoned it to the elements. While not a complete ruin, this house will need a lot of TLC to bring it back to it’s former glory. This house was an experiment for me in tileable materials and seeing how far I could get using nothing but Photoshop for texture creation instead of my usual go to, Substance Painter. Most of these materials started out with a diffuse texture I either photographed myself or found on CGtextures.com. I then created the normal, spec, emmisive, etc in Photoshop. I think this technique works well if you’re going to be putting the model into an engine like Unity or Unreal. The textures hold up at very close and they can be used across many different buildings or props you may have in your game. Also being able to add secondary textures would allow for more variations like grunge.
