A model I made for SCP Secret Laboratory’s Parabellum update, or 11.0. This model is based on the HK MG5, and replaced an older version of the Logicer made by another artist that had been in the game for quite some time. This model was a major step up for me, both in complexity and in execution. I faced quite a few challenges in its creation, but am quite happy with the result. I’ve also created a set of first-person animations for the model, which are used in-game. A personal project I started in September that got pushed back due to university work. After finishing the game I knew I had to make something for my portfolio to show praise as I am one of the few people with the controversial opinion that the game is a masterpiece, ultimately becoming my favourite game I’ve ever played. I’m a huge fan of Joel and Ellie and I was very invested in the continuation of their story. I chose to model the guitar that Joel gives to Ellie as I felt that it was a physical embodiment of their relationship which is my favorite thing about the games. It’s also different to a lot of my other portfolio pieces as I tend to model weapons. I found this piece quite challenging as the sunburst pattern on the body of the guitar took some time to get right as I had not done too much hand painted texturing within Substance Painter but I am very happy with the results. The model was created in 3DS Max and textured in Substance Painter with textures exported in 2k quality. 3D Model is ready to download for free, this model contains 17924 polygons.
