Excited about the upcoming Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition? Well, I am for sure, so I had to make some fanarts to ease the hype!! Here is a recreation of the new Monado design shown in on of the latest trailers for the Future Connected epilogue. I only had the trailer as reference, so I had to use a bit of imagination for some pieces and proportions, and for the open/close mechanism too! This was a very exciting hard-surface project, and I loved working on it. Stay tunned for more fanarts coming in the future! I used Blender for both the high and low-poly models, Marmoset Toolbag for the baking, and substance Painter for the texturing. The main intention behind this gun was to make it look old, rugged and intimidating, combining these to give an old-school feel. The mechanism of this gun is similar to a modern minigun, the body holds the magazine on hooks which makes reloading a slow task. The style of holding the gun is tacky due to that it makes the gun a bit unstable for the user giving it a hard recoil momentum and an old-school feeling. The gun has two gauge meters one indicating the temperature and another one showing the amount of remaining bullets in the magazine. I wanted to try a colour scheme different from the basic steampunk colours (Golden/Brown), to make it look different from other weapons. This project allows not only to explore the internal territory in daytime or night enviroment, but also to study in detail all of the processes from within, from cutting metal plates to the production of finished vessels and allows to study the detailed information about all of the processes as well. The project was created by us based on the project documentation for demonstration the model of the shipyard to customers in different countries. The Huot Automatic Rifle is a Canadian light machine gun developed during World War I, based on the Ross Rifle, but using a gas-operated mechanism and a drum magazine to produce a portable select-fire light machine gun which would be cheaper to manufacture than the Lewis Gun.
