IT was hailed as being ‘‘100 years ahead of its time’’ when it opened in 1936 to care for the treatment of people with learning disabilities.
Hidden in a wooded estate, well outside Glasgow’s city boundary, Lennox Castle hospital - built for (pounds) 1m - was chosen for its rural, peaceful and safe location.
Apart from a few who had jobs on neighbouring farms, the 1500 patients catered for at its peak, aged from 10 to 80, lived mainly in their own community, separate from their neighbours in Lennoxtown, with their own workshops, school and recreational facilities.

I was aiming for a Warcraft look (as in Frozen Throne, not necessarily WoW) with limited resolution hand painted textures.
Glow FX were originally done as billboard planes, flickering was achieved by randomly rescaling them; the little bat and moving candle flames were animated by shifting UV - as these techniques are currently unavailable on Sketchfab I edited them out and left a static model with no billboard tracking. I had the privilege to work with the super chill and talented teammate, Gabriel Eekenulv, Skyblivion’s Concept Art Lead. Together we produced this grand and regal set of armor. As a historical arms and armor enthusiast, I often time find it difficult to work with many fantasy concept arts. Most designs sacrifice basic understanding and practicality for “cool” aesthetics which make no sense. When I came across Eekenulv’s armor designs, however, I was in awe. His designs are grand, elegant, and “cool”, yet they maintain insights and functionality of armors, a perfect balance between “Realism” and “Suspension of Disbelieve”.
This was one of the most fun project I’ve produced in collaboration with others. Not to mention my Twitch subscribers who took part in submitting poleaxe designs, which eventually developed into the one you see.
