A high-detail model of the famous sword of Altair. It features the classic eagle head as a pommel, and the whole guard area is very reminiscent of the original sword. I took some liberties when it came to the rune-like details on the pommel itself, but tried to remain as close the the original(s) as possible. The sword was done via classic hard surface modelling, only said details on the pommels were sculpted and then baked onto the normal map. I gave the blade textures a good amount of wear, and went overall for a less clean “game-y” look. The entire project was done in Blender and Substance Painter. My entry for the #StorybookChallenge I wanted to work on a story from my childhood that hasn’t been turned into a dozen different movie-versions, and since I´m a huge fan of stars, glowing things and a little pinch of magic, the tale “The Star-Money” seemed perfect to me. It’s written by the Grimm brothers and tells the story of a homeless girl who is pure and kind by heart. As a reward for her kindness the stars fall from the sky and turn into gold. This was a PvP Arena I made for my friend’s minecraft v1.11.2 server. Players could fly around with my custom command block jetpack mechanism in the arena (sneak ingame to activate). They could run accross the dragon skeleton and use the rib cages as cover. They could also hit the fireballs at the corner towers to send it flying to opponents.   The overall style is based on the ruins in the game Journey, with a combination of the stepwell of Chand Baori from India, and Egyptian temples.   Minecraft map download: http://www.mediafire.com/file/o44ayb9c0be4bnp Build in minecraft v1.11.2 using default textures and worldedit plugin. Been trying to push myself to create more complex hard surface models, so I spent the last few days working on this, a P08 Luger. An absolute classic of the World Wars, and a revolutionary design in firearms history. Not 100% accurate or specific to any single Luger variant, I picked little pieces of aesethics from different models that I liked, but most of the details are there, functional controls are there, and the important silhouettes are all there. I did design the model with “game ready” requirements in mind, specifically some of the requirements H3VR suggestions for model donations. Poly count is ~19k (poly count here is doubled because of the pair of Lugers on display). 4k PBR Metal-Rough texture sets.
