My entry for the #StorybookChallenge
I wanted to work on a story from my childhood that hasn’t been turned into a dozen different movie-versions, and since I´m a huge fan of stars, glowing things and a little pinch of magic, the tale “The Star-Money” seemed perfect to me.
It’s written by the Grimm brothers and tells the story of a homeless girl who is pure and kind by heart. As a reward for her kindness the stars fall from the sky and turn into gold.

“Catrina’s mother was not going to have a witch under her roof so Catrina had taken up residence in the caravan in the back yard. It was a little rusty and if it rained particularly hard the water would squeeze it’s way in and drip down onto the old Lino floor, but it wasn’t all that bad. Catrina liked the independence. She learnt to cook for herself and borrowed hundreds of books from the library to teach herself all the necessary things that s do. And she made friends too, with next doors cat and a few crows. A few weeks later the pumpkins started showing up, just a few at first but every time Catrina’s mother tried to cut them back more grew in their place. Catrina thought the pumpkins made the yard look warm and cosy, and she was glad they didn’t let her mother stop them from growing and thriving”

The amazingly talented illustrationist Simona Ceccarelli graciously contributed her time to create the original covor artwork. She’s an awesome person as well.
E Lynx, already a sketchfab favorite, did this initial 3D-fied conversion. He’s created a number of amazing 3D tribute conversions to existing art. We’re actively looking for artists to get involved in contributing to this project. The microactivist movement is a truly awesome cause converting kids into inspired ocean defenders and we have a lot of great celebeties and talent getting onboard.
So please get in touch with me if you feel you could contribute. We need cartoon style ocean and land critter models, detailed kid models, scene builders, scripters.
