A painted wooden chest in a Skawina style. Painting techniques and ornamentation types were passed on from generation to generation. Sometimes, carpenters were not the creators of the painting decorations but their wives or daughters.
The dowry chest was an element of traditional equipment of a bride which she brought to a new household. They were usually placed opposite the entrance, in a visible place. A large painted chest was something to be proud of. After some time, they were moved to a less visible place.

2nd half of the 19th century, Rudawa, Poland
Cupboards were usually made by a local carpenter upon commission and their possession was indicative of its owner’s wealth. This furniture was used until July 1966 when it was purchased by the museum from Józef Mucha from Rudawa.
This painted cupboard consists of a base in the form of a low cabinet, equipped with shelves covered with a door and two drawers as well as a shallower cabinet with a glazed door. The interior of the adjustment with a shelf is painted dark blue and the background is also decorated with yellow and red stars.

Hand painted scene I did for my Game Graphics final exam in Digital Arts and Entertainment.
For the concept I based myself on the abandon military and scientific bases of Deception Island (Antartica), including the old whale oil refinery factories.
While searching for some reference, I fell in love with the colors and mood that some of the pictures depicted from these places . They are completly abandoned and destroyed, but their surroundings seemed so quiet, pure and constant in time that made these houses feel like the only reserves of life in the place, even though they were forgotten long time ago.

Inspired by Adam Savage’s Tested video on making lukes saber hilt, I started working on a lightsaber animation. With today being the day it is, it seemed fiting to release the key prop :D
Mostly built and animated (check youtube soon-ish) while waiting for remote Mandolorian watch-parties to start.
The dimmensions and details are accurate to most of the real props used. They used a lot of very different props, from painted rubber tubes to complex close up models, so I took the best references for the details I could get for each detail. The animation is set mid-battle and post-ROTJ so it has a bit more wear and damage.

Personal project - so I went crazy on the textures… all hand painted, no photos used.
I plan to extend this into a full diorama at some point. So everything is set up for fully baked lighting (i.e. no overlapping UVs)… meant it took a LOT longer but hopefully it’ll be worth it in the end. More to come!
