Wooden canopic chest of Yuya from the Tomb of Yuya and Thuya (KV46), Valley of the Kings, Egypt. This wooden chest contained four alabaster canopic jars, each containing the mummified inner organs of Yuya. The chest is currently on display in the Egyptian Museum, Cairo.
Yuya and Thuya were the father and mother of Queen Tiye, the great royal wife of Amenhotep III of the 18th Dynasty. The tomb was discovered virtually intact in 1905 by James Quibell and Theodore M. Davis.
Created from 90 photographs (Canon EOS Rebel T7i) using Metashape 1.6.1 and Blender 3D 2.8. Blender was used to fix some minor aspects of the geometry and texturing caused by the lighting conditions in the museum. The second coffin of three of Yuya from his tomb in Egypt’s Valley of the Kings (KV46). The tomb was discovered in 1905 by James Quibell and contained the partially looted burials of Yuya and his wife Thuya of the 18th Dynasty. Yuya and Thuya were non-royal nobles and the parents of Queen Tiye who was the Great Royal Wife of Amenhotep III and mother of Akhenaten. The coffin is currently in the Egyptain Museum, Cairo, Egypt.
Created from 237 photographs (Canon EOS Rebel T5i) using Metashape 1.5.5. The base of the coffin was unavailable for scanning and has been reconstructed using Meshmixer 3.5 with texture touched up using Blender 2.8 Texture Painting. Wooden coffin of Pharaoh Amenhotep I of the 18th Dynasty in the Egyptian Museum, Cairo, Egypt. This coffin is the one in which his body was recovered in the Royal Mummy Cache in tomb DB320 in 1881. However, it is a replacement coffin, having been origianlly made for a priest by the name of Djehutymose. The inscription down the front of the coffin calls upon the god Osiris-Wennefer to provide offerings of bread, beer, oxen, fowl, and all good and pure things to Amenhotep I.
